Apple is gearing up for another wave of hardware refreshes, with the spotlight firmly on its MacBook Air lineup. According to reliable industry insider Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the tech giant is planning to unveil a new generation of MacBook Airs powered by the upcoming M4 chip.
This news might seem surprising given the recent launch of M3-powered MacBook Airs. However, Apple’s relentless pursuit of innovation often leads to rapid product cycles. The M4-equipped MacBook Airs, which are expected to hit the market between January and March 2025, will likely retain the sleek design of the M2 models. Both the 13-inch and 15-inch variants are set to receive this upgrade.
While the M4 MacBook Airs won’t be part of Apple’s imminent hardware event, there’s plenty to look forward to. Next week, Apple is poised to unveil a new lineup of MacBook Pros, Mac Minis, and iMacs.
If you’re eyeing a new Mac Studio, you might have to wait a bit longer. Although an M4-powered version is in the pipeline, it’s not expected to arrive until after March 2025. Similarly, an M4 Mac Pro is also on the horizon, but Apple hasn’t shared a specific timeline for its release.
Apple’s spring lineup is also shaping up to be exciting. In addition to the M4 MacBook Airs, we can anticipate the launch of a new iPhone SE, updated iPad Airs, upgraded iPad keyboards, and entry-level iPads. The company recently unveiled the seventh-generation iPad mini and is set to introduce the first phase of its Apple Intelligence features next week.
