Apple is making a bigger push into the smart home. On October 13, 2026, the company announced four products under its “Welcome Home” campaign: the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2, Apple HomeView smart display, and Apple Home Collection, a lineup of connected-home accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.

The announcements span streaming, smart speakers, home displays, security cameras, smart locks, and climate controls. Siri AI is the common thread, with Apple aiming to make it easier to discover entertainment, manage connected devices, and access personalized information around the house.

Not every feature will be available immediately, and some accessories won’t arrive until 2027. Here’s what Apple announced, how much the new products cost in the US, and when you can expect them to arrive.

HomePod mini 2$149October 30, 2026
Apple HomeView$299November 13, 2026
Apple Home Collection$39.95 for the least expensive accessoryDecember 2026; select products in early 2027

The four announcements cover different parts of Apple’s home ecosystem. Apple TV 4K focuses on entertainment, HomePod mini 2 combines audio and voice control, HomeView adds a dedicated touchscreen interface, and Home Collection expands Apple’s smart home platform with compatible third-party hardware.

1. Apple TV 4K gets an A19 chip and Siri AI

Price: $299 | Available November 13, 2026

Apple’s fourth-generation Apple TV 4K combines a faster processor with new voice controls and expanded smart home features. The streaming box uses Apple’s A19 chip, which the company says delivers up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the previous generation.

The A19 also includes a dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient video streaming. These changes should improve everyday navigation and provide additional processing headroom for supported games and Apple’s expanding software features.

Siri AI is another major addition. Viewers can ask questions about shows, explore recommendations, and ask follow-up questions without relying exclusively on conventional voice commands. The assistant can also use personal context from a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad for supported requests.

The new Apple TV 4K includes three far-field microphones, allowing users to speak to Siri without picking up the remote. Its updated Siri Remote adds Find My support, including Precision Finding with a compatible iPhone, and a sound-playing option to help locate the remote.

Apple is also expanding the device’s role in home entertainment. The fourth-generation model supports a four-speaker setup using compatible HomePod speakers, alongside Apple Home controls, supported security-camera notifications, and smart home automations.

Siri AI availability depends on compatible hardware, software, language, and region requirements. The new streaming box is therefore more than a routine processor upgrade, but buyers should check which features are available in their market before purchasing.

2. HomePod mini 2 adds Siri AI and new audio features

Price: $149 | Available October 30, 2026

Apple’s HomePod mini 2 retains the compact design of its predecessor while introducing an S10 chip, enhanced audio processing, and a more prominent role in the company’s connected-home strategy.

The speaker comes in five colors: pink, green, blue, white, and midnight. Apple is also introducing Sound Glow, a lighting effect that responds to music, alongside support for stereo pairing and multiroom audio.

The HomePod mini 2 can work as a standalone speaker or as part of a larger Apple home theater setup. Four compatible speakers can be paired with the new Apple TV 4K for a supported surround-sound configuration, although building that system requires buying the speakers separately.

Siri AI is the other headline feature. Apple plans to bring more conversational interactions, personal context, broader knowledge, and support for tasks spanning compatible apps to the speaker through a future software update.

With a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, users will be able to ask Siri to find information across supported apps, such as locating a song recommended by a friend in Messages or adding recipe ingredients to a grocery list.

The speaker also supports smart home controls, automations, and Sound Recognition notifications for compatible smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. These features help it remain useful beyond music playback.

The important caveat is that the new Siri AI capabilities won’t all be available on day one. Apple’s rollout will depend on software, language, regional availability, and compatible devices.

3. Apple HomeView brings a touchscreen to the smart home

Price: $299 | Available November 13, 2026

Apple HomeView is the most significant new product category in the announcement. It gives households a dedicated screen for managing connected devices, viewing cameras, making calls, and accessing everyday information without reaching for an iPhone.

The device features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, an aluminum enclosure, a stainless steel hinge, and a domed speaker base. Apple offers tabletop and wall-mounted configurations, with different color options depending on the model.

HomeView combines smart home controls with entertainment and communication features. Users can access compatible camera feeds, make FaceTime calls, view messages, play music, display photos, and use widgets, recipes, timers, and intercom messages.

Face recognition supports personalized experiences for up to six people. Depending on the user’s identity, paired device, and security settings, HomeView can show relevant personal information while keeping other household members’ content separate.

Siri AI is central to the experience, allowing users to make requests and control compatible accessories through conversation. With a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, supported tasks can also draw on personal context from apps such as Messages and Calendar.

The display can show up to nine compatible security-camera feeds simultaneously. That makes it particularly relevant to households that want a central place to check cameras, control lighting, and manage other connected accessories.

Apple HomeView starts at $299 in the US, including the wall-mounted model. Preorders opened October 13, with availability beginning November 13. Wall-mounting accessories are sold separately, with prices starting at $59.95.

4. Apple Home Collection expands cameras, locks, and thermostats

Starting at $39.95 | Availability begins December 2026

Apple Home Collection extends the company’s home ecosystem beyond Apple-branded hardware. Developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, the lineup includes security cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt, thermostats, and temperature sensors.

The collection comprises four LG cameras: a wired video doorbell, a floodlight camera, an outdoor plug-in camera, and an indoor plug-in camera. It also includes an LG smart deadbolt, an LG smart thermostat, an LG temperature sensor, a Schneider Electric smart thermostat, and a Schneider Home room sensor.

Depending on the model, the cameras offer video capture at up to 2.5K resolution. Supported features include recognition of people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles, and packages. Eligible setups can also provide recorded-event history, AI-generated descriptions, and summarized notifications, subject to camera compatibility and iCloud+ plan requirements.

The LG smart deadbolt supports several entry methods, including a keypad, compatible Apple devices, and a backup key. Supported home keys and Ultra Wideband technology can also enable automatic unlocking as an authorized user approaches.

The thermostats and sensors focus on temperature management and energy use. Apple’s Adaptive Temperature feature can adjust compatible thermostats based on household routines, while sensors help monitor conditions in different rooms.

Setup and interoperability are central to the collection. Apple says compatible accessories can be added to Apple Home with a single tap on an iPhone, without requiring separate apps or accounts. The lineup also supports Thread, while the thermostats and sensors support Matter.

Here are the announced US starting prices:

AccessoryPrice
LG Temperature Sensor$39.95
Schneider Home Room Sensor$39.95
LG Smart Thermostat$199.95
Schneider Home Smart Thermostat$199.95
LG Indoor Cam Plug-In$199.95
LG Video Doorbell Wired$249.95
LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In$299.95
LG Smart Deadbolt Lock$349.95
LG Floodlight Cam$399.95

Apple Home Collection availability begins in December 2026, with select accessories arriving in early 2027. Timing varies by product and market.

How Apple’s new products work together

The four announcements make more sense as parts of one connected-home strategy than as isolated product launches.

  • Apple TV 4K combines streaming entertainment, a home theater role, and smart home controls.
  • HomePod mini 2 provides music, voice interaction, and smart home automation in a compact speaker.
  • Apple HomeView adds a dedicated screen for camera feeds, household information, entertainment, and device controls.
  • Apple Home Collection supplies compatible cameras, locks, thermostats, and sensors that extend the system into security and climate management.

Siri AI is intended to make these devices easier to use together. Instead of navigating multiple menus or remembering rigid voice commands, users can make more natural requests and, where supported, ask the assistant to work across compatible apps.

For example, a household might use HomeView to check a doorbell camera, Apple TV 4K to display a compatible doorbell notification, and a HomePod mini 2 to control accessories or play music. The actual experience depends on the accessories, settings, software versions, and subscriptions involved.

This is also where Apple’s emphasis on compatibility matters. Not every accessory supports every feature, and the presence of Siri AI across the product lineup doesn’t mean every device will receive the same capabilities at the same time.

What the new Apple products cost

The HomePod mini 2 is the least expensive of Apple’s four headline announcements at $149. Apple TV 4K and HomeView each start at $299, while Home Collection accessories range from $39.95 for a temperature or room sensor to $399.95 for the LG Floodlight Cam.

Those prices cover very different needs. A HomePod mini 2 can add a speaker and voice control to one room, while HomeView is intended to serve as a dedicated household interface. A more extensive smart home setup involving multiple cameras, a smart lock, and thermostats will cost considerably more than buying any one accessory.

Buyers should also account for separately sold speakers and mounting accessories, compatible Apple hardware, and any subscriptions required for specific camera features.

Availability is staggered. HomePod mini 2 arrives first on October 30, followed by Apple TV 4K and HomeView on November 13. Home Collection begins arriving in December, with select products scheduled for early 2027.

Apple’s next home strategy revolves around Siri AI

Apple’s “Welcome Home” announcements show the company expanding its home ecosystem across entertainment, voice control, security, and climate management. The new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 update familiar product categories, HomeView introduces a dedicated smart home display, and Home Collection broadens the range of compatible accessories.

The bigger story is the attempt to make Siri AI a more useful interface for the entire home. If the promised conversational features and cross-app actions work as intended, users could spend less time navigating separate apps and more time controlling devices through straightforward requests.

There are still practical questions around software availability, accessory compatibility, regional support, and the cost of building a complete setup. Some of the most prominent AI capabilities are also arriving through future updates rather than being available immediately.

For now, Apple is making its ambition clear: it wants the living room, the smart speaker, the household display, and the connected accessories to feel like parts of one ecosystem. Whether that vision delivers a noticeably better everyday experience will depend on how well the products work together once the announced features become available.
