Apple has just unveiled the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra, and it’s nothing short of spectacular. This latest iteration takes everything you love about the original Ultra and supercharges it with a faster S9 SiP chip, a cool double-tap gesture, Apple’s brightest display yet, expanded altitude capabilities, and some nifty features for your water adventures.

The first thing that catches your eye with the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is its display. It’s now cranking out a staggering 3,000 nits of brightness. To put that into perspective, it’s 50% brighter than its predecessor and the brightest display Apple has ever cooked up. Whether you’re checking your watch in a dimly lit room or in an early morning fog, you’ve got the perfect brightness level. Plus, a neat trick: rotating the Digital Crown doubles the brightness temporarily, handy for a quick flashlight in the dark.

Under the hood, this beauty boasts the brand-new S9 SiP chip, and it’s a game-changer. With 60% more transistors and 30% more speed compared to the previous S8 chip, this watch is ready for action. The S9 chip also packs a four-core neural engine, making it a powerhouse for all your neural tasks. In plain language, it’s blazing fast and incredibly smart.

Apple isn’t done impressing us yet. They’ve added a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip that makes finding your iPhone 15 a breeze. And, if you’re into Precision Finding, you’ll love this feature. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 also flaunts a new 4-core Neural Engine, processing machine learning tasks at twice the speed of the original. Impressive, right?

Say hello to the new double-tap gesture. It’s like a secret handshake for your Apple Watch. Now, you can answer calls, snooze alarms, play music, and more with just a tap of your index finger and thumb. This clever move is made possible by the speedier Neural Engine, which works its magic by analyzing your wrist’s tiny movements and changes in blood flow when you perform that double tap. It’s like having your own little magician on your wrist. Expect this feature next month!

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 comes with the swanky Modular Ultra watch face, tailored for its expansive display. It’s like a Swiss Army knife for your wrist, displaying real-time data like seconds, altitude, or depth. If you’re into sports or outdoor adventures, this one’s for you. Plus, it’s got a Night mode that automatically kicks in when it’s dark, thanks to the ambient light sensor.

This stylish piece of tech runs on watchOS 10, which brings a host of goodies. There are redesigned apps, the Smart Stack, an improved cycling experience, and tools for outdoor exploration. But the real star of the show is that gorgeous Modular Ultra watch face, delivering a seamless experience.

No need to worry about your watch dying on you mid-day. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 packs a solid 36-hour battery life with regular use and can stretch up to a whopping 72 hours in Low Power Mode. And what about the price? It starts at $799, making it a fantastic deal for the high-tech features it offers.

Exciting news for folks in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, the UAE, the U.K., the U.S., and more than 40 other countries and regions: you can pre-order the Apple Watch Ultra 2 today, and it’ll hit stores on Friday, September 22.
