Samsung just dropped its latest Galaxy Book5 Pro 360, marking the company’s first step into the new Galaxy Book5 lineup. This isn’t just any laptop—it’s thin, lightweight, AI-powered, and flaunts a stunning AMOLED display paired with Intel’s newest processors. In other words, it’s a beast of a machine designed to make you rethink what a laptop can do.

Now, before you get too excited, let’s address the elephant in the room. Yep, it’s running on Intel. While some might have hoped for a Snapdragon version (and who knows, maybe we’ll see one eventually), for now, it’s all about the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors. These bad boys bring an impressive 47 TOPS of NPU power to the table, qualifying the device for that fancy Copilot+ PC branding everyone’s buzzing about.

If you’re ready to take the plunge, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is now up for preorder in the U.S. You can snag one from Samsung or Best Buy for $1,699.99. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when it’ll hit Amazon. The official release date is set for September 24, 2024, so mark your calendar if you’re looking to get your hands on one.

The Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is a convertible laptop sporting a 16-inch AMOLED touchscreen that supports the S Pen (and yes, the S Pen is included, thank you very much). The 360-degree hinge allows the screen to rotate completely, effectively turning this beauty into a full-fledged Windows tablet. The screen itself is no joke either—it’s a 2880 x 1800px panel with a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an anti-reflective coating to cut down on glare.

For a laptop of this size, it’s impressively light, weighing just 1.69kg (around 3.73lbs) and measuring a slim 12.8mm (about half an inch) thick. The battery is decent too—a 76Wh power pack that Samsung claims will last up to 25 hours of video playback. It charges through a 65W USB-C adapter, and if you’re worried about audio, don’t be. The quad-speaker setup delivers Dolby Atmos sound, with two 5W woofers and two 3.3W tweeters, so your Netflix binges will sound as good as they look.

Right now, there’s only one version of the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 available, and it’s powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 256V paired with an Intel Arc 140V GPU (8GB). Samsung is touting a 17% performance bump over Intel’s last-gen graphics, so gaming and creative tasks should be smooth sailing.

The laptop comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM (soldered, so no upgrading that), and you can pick between 512GB or 1TB of NVMe SSD storage.

It comes with an HDMI 2.1 port (supports up to 8K at 60fps or 5K at 120fps), two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A 3.2, a MicroSD card slot, and the good old headphone/mic combo jack. On the wireless side of things, you’re looking at Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, making it future-proof for years to come.
