You’re rushing out the door, late for a meeting, and your phone’s battery is clinging to life at 5%. You grab your charger, toss it in your bag, and hope for the best. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably cursed the bulky bricks that some chargers still are—those clunky relics that weigh down your bag and take up way too much space. Well, Anker’s been listening. The company’s latest release, the Nano 45W USB-C charger, is here to lighten the load—literally. It’s smaller, svelter, and somehow even more powerful than its predecessors, proving once again that good things really do come in small packages.

Anker’s been on a mission to shrink its chargers without sacrificing performance, and the new Nano 45W is the latest proof of that obsession. This tiny titan clocks in at just 1.45 inches long and weighs a featherlight 52 grams—about 17 grams lighter than its older sibling, the Nano II 713. For context, that’s roughly the weight of a couple of AA batteries. And yet, it still packs enough punch to charge your gadgets at lightning speed. Right now, you can snag it exclusively on Amazon for $34.99, and Anker’s even throwing in a six-foot USB-C cable to sweeten the deal. Not too shabby, right?

Let’s talk size for a second. The Nano II 713, which was already pretty compact, measured 1.49 x 1.38 x 1.62 inches and tipped the scales at 69 grams. The new Nano 45W trims that down to 1.30 x 1.26 x 1.45 inches—small enough to slip into your jeans pocket without a second thought. Even with the included six-foot cable (which adds a smidge of weight), the whole package comes in at just 58 grams.

But don’t let the dainty dimensions fool you—this charger’s got some serious juice. Like its predecessors, it supports Samsung’s Super Fast Charging tech, which leans on a USB Power Delivery (PD) spec called Programmable Power Supply (PPS). Translation? It’s smart enough to adjust its output to whatever your device needs, fast. If you’ve got a Samsung S25 Ultra, for example, you can juice it up from dead to 70% in about 30 minutes. Give it just under an hour, and you’ll be back at 100%. That’s the kind of speed that can save your bacon when you’re scrambling to charge up between Zoom calls or before a night out.

Anker’s not new to this game. The company’s been a darling of the tech world for years, churning out reliable, affordable charging gear. The Nano line, in particular, has been a fan favorite since it debuted, blending portability with power in a way that’s tough to beat. This latest iteration builds on that legacy, shaving off a few millimeters and grams while keeping the performance rock-solid. It’s the kind of incremental upgrade that doesn’t scream for attention but quietly makes your life a little easier.

So, what’s the catch? Well, there doesn’t seem to be one—at least not yet. At $34.99, it’s priced competitively with other 45W chargers on the market, like Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro (which retails for around $39.95) or even Anker’s own older models. The included six-foot cable is a nice touch, too—long enough to reach from an awkward hotel outlet to your nightstand without forcing you to play charger Tetris. And while it’s only available on Amazon for now, that exclusivity might just be a temporary thing as Anker rolls it out wider.

If you’re the type who’s always on the go—whether it’s hopping between coffee shops or jetting off on a weekend trip—this little charger might just be your new best friend. It’s not going to power up your entire tech arsenal like one of Anker’s beefier multi-port wall chargers (looking at you, 100W GaN beasts), but for a single-device solution, it’s hard to top. Toss it in your bag, your glovebox, or even your coat pocket, and you’ve got fast charging that won’t weigh you down.

Anker’s clearly not resting on its laurels here. The Nano 45W is another step in the company’s quest to make charging as seamless and unobtrusive as possible. And honestly? They’re nailing it. So next time you’re scrambling to charge up before your battery dies, maybe give this little guy a shot. It’s small enough to forget about—until you need it most.
