Apple today announced a new addition to its popular iPhone 14 lineup, a bright and vibrant yellow color option. Unlike last year, the new yellow variant will only be available for the base iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, and not for the Pro models. The new color option adds a refreshing pop of color to the device, which is otherwise available in black, blue, purple, white, and red.
The last time we saw a yellow iPhone was with the release of the iPhone 11 in 2019, which followed the yellow iPhone XR that launched in 2018. Along with the new yellow iPhone, Apple has also released several new spring-themed Watch band colors and silicone iPhone cases.
Apple has made it a tradition to release a new iPhone color every spring, with the last spring seeing the launch of an “alpine green” iPhone 13 and 13 Pro. The previous year saw the release of a stunning purple iPhone 12 and 12 mini. While the new models do not come with any significant changes, the new color option could help Apple continue to sell more phones during what would typically be a slower period following the holiday rush.
The iPhone 14 was originally launched in September last year, with the Pro and Pro Max models featuring Apple’s new Dynamic Island technology. Since then, Apple has been updating its iPhone 14 lineup with various new features, including a satellite connectivity feature that allows users to contact emergency responders without cellular service. Third-party apps have also been adding support for the status indicator provided by the device’s Dynamic Island.
Customers can start pre-ordering the bright yellow iPhone 14 and 14 Plus from Friday, March 10th, and they will become available on March 14th. With the addition of the new color option, Apple has given its customers another reason to upgrade their phones and stay connected in style.
