As the dawn broke on another CES in Las Vegas, Samsung unveiled its latest offerings in the laptop market with the Galaxy Book5 Pro and Galaxy Book5 360, both equipped with Intel‘s latest Arrow Lake Core Ultra processors. This announcement comes hot on the heels of Intel’s reveal of these processors, positioning the new Galaxy Books as upgrades over the Lunar Lake-based models launched earlier by Samsung in September.

Samsung is touting these devices as a significant expansion of their “Galaxy Book AI PC lineup,” emphasizing an enhanced suite of AI-driven software features. One of the headline additions is the “AI Select” app, which mimics Google‘s Circle to Search by allowing users to encircle content on-screen for instant search results. The “Photo Remaster” tool, an AI-powered image enhancement feature, also promises to elevate your photography game by sharpening details and cleaning up blurry images. These features, which first debuted on the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 and were seen on the Snapdragon X Elite-powered Galaxy Book4 Edge, are now part of this refreshed lineup.

Available in both 14-inch and 16-inch variants, these devices sport high-resolution AMOLED screens at 2880 x 1800 with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate (48~120Hz VRR). This not only promises crisp visuals but also fluid animations, enhancing the user experience significantly. Samsung introduces “Vision Booster” technology here, which smartly adjusts contrast and color to improve visibility in outdoor settings, perfect for those who work on the go.

The 16-inch model boasts an impressive up to 25 hours of video playback on a single charge, while the 14-inch version offers up to 21 hours, positioning these laptops as marathon performers in the thin and light category.

This model features a slightly different approach with a 15.6-inch AMOLED screen at 1080p resolution. However, it compensates with an extraordinary battery life claim of up to 31 hours of video playback, making it a standout for users prioritizing endurance over screen real estate.

Both models come well-equipped for modern standards with Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, alongside versatile port options including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A, HDMI, and a microSD card slot, ensuring you’re never short on connectivity options.

Users can choose between Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 “Evo” processors, with memory options of 16GB or 32GB, and storage capacities ranging from 256GB to 1TB. This range of configurations caters to both casual users and more demanding professionals.

Availability

While Samsung has kept the price tags under wraps for now, the anticipation is high. These new laptops are slated to hit the markets of the US, Canada, UK, and other regions starting in February. This strategic release schedule gives potential buyers something to look forward to in the early part of 2025, promising a blend of performance, AI capabilities, and sleek design.

With this update, Samsung isn’t just selling a laptop; it’s pushing forward a vision where AI integration becomes as fundamental as the keyboard or touchpad. By leveraging Intel’s Arrow Lake processors, Samsung is not only aiming at performance but also at making AI functionalities more seamless and intuitive in everyday computing tasks.
