Tech journalist Marques Brownlee (aka MKBHD) recently sat down with Apple CEO Tim Cook for an interview. The discussion covered Apple’s newly announced AI feature, Apple Intelligence, and the potential of AI in hardware devices. But in a lighter moment, Marques threw a fun curveball at Cook: rank your top five favorite Apple products of all time, blindfolded!

Cook, ever the diplomat, didn’t provide a definitive ranking. However, he did share some fascinating insights into each product on the list, offering a glimpse into his perspective.

First up was the MacBook Air. Cook chuckled as he reminisced about Steve Jobs‘ iconic unveiling, where he famously pulled the sleek laptop out of a manila envelope. Cook acknowledged that the dramatic reveal wasn’t just theatrics; it cemented the MacBook Air’s legacy as the symbol of ultra-thin, ultra-portable laptops.

Next on the list was the iPad. Cook pointed out that tablets existed before Apple entered the market, but none had achieved mainstream success. He emphasized that Apple’s goal wasn’t to be the first, but to be the best, and the iPad perfectly embodies that philosophy.

The list took a surprising turn with the Magic Mouse, a product that often gets overshadowed by flashier gadgets. Cook, however, highlighted its innovative design and ergonomic features. Though he cleverly dodged the touchy subject of its charging situation…

The interview wouldn’t be complete without the iPhone. Cook described it as a world-altering device, not just for Apple, but for the entire technology landscape. He recalled Steve Jobs’ groundbreaking introduction, showcasing the iPhone as a phone, an iPod, and an internet communicator all in one. There’s no doubt, the iPhone ignited the mobile revolution.

Finally, we reach the Vision Pro, a product that clearly holds a special place in Cook’s heart. He enthusiastically described using it for everything from entertainment to multitasking, and expressed excitement about its potential, especially in the business world. Cook revealed that half of the Fortune 100 companies are already exploring the capabilities of Vision Pro.

While a definitive ranking would have been intriguing, Cook’s insights offered a valuable window into the impact these products have had, not just on Apple, but on the entire tech industry.
