If you have been waiting for the right moment to declutter your Mac, the time has officially arrived. MacPaw has launched its Black Friday 2025 sale, offering a substantial 30% discount across its newly restructured CleanMyMac plans.

Unlike previous years, where the software was simply known as “CleanMyMac X,” this year’s offer applies to the refreshed, “Tahoe-ready” version of the software, now simply called CleanMyMac. This rebrand comes with a new interface, a new “Basic” vs. “Plus” tier system, and a modernized “Smart Care” engine.

For Black Friday 2025, MacPaw is offering a flat 30% off on both annual subscriptions and one-time purchases. The discount is automatically applied when you visit the store or triggered via the coupon code BF2025.

  • CleanMyMac Basic (1 Mac, 1 year): $28.14 (down from $40.20)
  • CleanMyMac Plus (1 Mac, 1 year): $45.78 (down from $65.40)
  • One-time purchase (Basic): $83.96 (down from $119.95)
  • One-time purchase (Plus): $137.16 (down from $195.95)

The “new” CleanMyMac: what has changed?

Long-time users will notice a shift in how the software is sold. The all-in-one suite has been segmented into Basic and Plus tiers. This is critical to understand before you buy, as the 30% discount applies to both, but the feature sets differ significantly.

Your browser does not support the video tag.

1. The Basic plan: pure cleaning & performance

The Basic plan is designed for users who strictly want to reclaim disk space and speed up their machine. It includes the core “Smart Care” routine but strips away some of the advanced security and visualization tools.

  • Junk cleanup: Removes system cache, broken downloads, and unneeded language files.
  • Performance: Tools to free up RAM and manage heavy-resource consumers.
  • Uninstaller: Completely removes apps along with their leftover “service files” that usually get left behind.
  • Duplicate finder: Scans for duplicate documents and similar photos to free up storage.

2. The Plus plan: security & deep visualization

The Plus plan is where the software really shines as a comprehensive utility, largely due to the inclusion of the Moonlock Engine (MacPaw’s dedicated cybersecurity division) and the visual storage tools.

  • Malware removal: Unlike the Basic plan, the Plus tier includes active threat removal. It scans for keyloggers, viruses, and adware specific to macOS.
  • Space lens: This is a fan-favorite feature that builds a visual map of your storage. It represents your folders as bubbles of varying sizes, allowing you to instantly spot which movies or archives are hogging your drive.
  • Cloud decluttering: A newer feature that helps manage files stored in cloud services like Dropbox or Drive that are taking up local space.
  • Privacy protection: Cleans up browsing history and chat logs to ensure digital privacy.

Is “Smart Care” effective?

The cornerstone of the new CleanMyMac is the Smart Care button. In our testing and analysis of the software’s capabilities, this feature combines five complex tasks into a single click:

  1. Deep clean: Scans for gigabytes of hidden junk.
  2. Security scan: Checks for vulnerabilities (Plus plan only).
  3. Performance boost: Runs maintenance scripts to optimize RAM.
  4. Updates: Checks for available updates for your installed apps.
  5. Declutter: Look for large, old files you haven’t opened in months.

According to MacPaw’s internal data, the software cleans an average of 5.5GB of junk on the very first scan. For users with smaller SSDs (256GB or 512GB), reclaiming 5GB to 10GB of space can be the difference between a smooth workflow and the dreaded “Disk Full” warning.

Which plan should you buy?

This Black Friday deal offers the lowest price point we are likely to see until late 2026.

Choose the “Basic” plan ($28.14) if you already have a dedicated antivirus (like Malwarebytes or Intego) and just need a reliable tool to keep your storage clean and uninstall apps cleanly. The $28 price tag for a year of maintenance is a solid value for the utility provided.

Choose the “Plus” plan ($45.78) if you want a “set it and forget it” solution. The addition of the Moonlock malware engine and Space Lens makes it a complete health suite for your Mac. Considering the Plus plan is normally $65+, grabbing it for under $46 is the highlight of this sale.

The sale is currently live and runs through the Black Friday weekend, ending soon.
