LG has long been known for its industry-leading OLED TVs which produce stunning image quality thanks to their per-pixel lighting. However, at CES 2024, the company has significantly expanded its QNED LCD lineup, offering larger sizes along with the latest smart TV features.

The headliner is a massive 98-inch QNED LCD model, part of LG’s mid-range QNED85T series. While it lacks the precise dimming of Mini LED sets, the 98-inch size is sure to appeal to buyers who want to go as big as possible without paying for more premium technologies.

In addition, LG has fully updated its 8K and 4K Mini LED QNED families. The flagship QNED99T series now includes 75- and 86-inch screen sizes likely priced over $4,000. With state-of-the-art image quality including over 3,000 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision HDR, Dolby Atmos, and 120Hz refresh rates, these 8K TVs aim for the high-end home theater market.

Meanwhile, the more affordable 4K QNED90T series offers Mini LED backlighting and full array local dimming in 65-, 75-, and 86-inch options. LG has added more sizes to the entry-level QNED80T models (43-, 50-, 55-, 65-, 75-, and 86-inch), ensuring budget buyers can get a big screen at reasonable prices.

All the new QNED models run webOS 24, LG’s latest smart TV platform. It brings individual user profiles with personalized recommendations, hands-free voice control, built-in Chromecast, and support for AirPlay 2 and the major streaming apps. What’s more, LG is promising 4 years of webOS software upgrades.

With advanced LCDs like QNED now complementing its renowned OLED range, LG aims to have a top-tier TV for every buyer in 2024. Interested consumers will have to wait a bit longer though for full specs, pricing and availability details. But the 98-inch mid-range set could become an appealing option for home theater enthusiasts who crave maximum size over bleeding-edge display tech.
