A modern workspace featuring a gray Acer Swift 14 AI laptop (model SF14-51/T) on a light gray fabric surface, possibly an ottoman or bench. The laptop screen displays a colorful graph and some text, indicating it might be used for work or analysis. To the left of the laptop lies an envelope with the text ‘Acer,’ suggesting it is related to the Acer product line. Above the laptop is a wireless mouse, complementing the portable and clean setup. The background includes a textured blue carpet and part of a white blanket or throw, adding to the casual yet professional atmosphere.

Acer‘s just dropped some serious news in the laptop world. They’re beefing up their Swift AI lineup with some serious powerhouses, and get this – they’re claiming these laptops can last over 24 hours on a single charge.

Acer’s not messing around. They’re rolling out new models featuring the latest and greatest chips from Intel, Qualcomm, and AMD. We’re talking Intel’s shiny new Lunar Lake, Qualcomm‘s fresh-off-the-press eight-core Snapdragon X Plus, and AMD‘s Ryzen AI 300. But the real kicker? Acer says these laptops can theoretically keep chugging along for more than 24 hours of video playback or over 17 hours of productivity work. That’s like… a whole day without hunting for an outlet.

Breaking it down: The Swift 14 AI and Swift Go 14 AI

If you opt for these new models with their IPS screens and beefy 65-watt-hour batteries, Acer’s making some pretty bold claims:

  • Intel model: 23 hours of web browsing, 29 hours of binge-watching your favorite shows
  • AMD model: 19 hours of surfing the web, 27 hours of video marathons
  • Qualcomm model: 19.5 hours of browsing, 28 hours of non-stop video

Now, before you get too excited, remember that these are manufacturer claims. Real-world usage might be a bit different, but still – those numbers are nothing to sneeze at.

Swift 14 AI

So, here’s the deal with the Swift 14 AI. You’ve got two flavors to pick from:

Intel Edition (SF14-51):

  • Rocking either an Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 processor
  • Screen options include 3K or 2K OLED at 90Hz, or a 2K IPS panel
  • Up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage
  • Thunderbolt 4 ports for all your high-speed needs

AMD Edition (SF14-61):

  • Powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 chip
  • Screen choices: 3K OLED, 3K 120Hz, or 2K IPS
  • Also up to 32GB of RAM, but a beefier 2TB storage option
  • USB4 ports instead of Thunderbolt

Both versions pack some serious connectivity: two USB-C ports (which can charge the laptop), two USB-A 3.2 ports, an audio jack, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. They’ve also got a fancy 1440p webcam with IR depth sensing for Windows Hello, a privacy shutter, and proximity sensors that lock the screen when you walk away.

These Swift 14 AI laptops start at $1,200 and should be hitting shelves this month.

Swift Go 14 AI

If you’re Team Qualcomm or just want to save a few bucks, the Swift Go 14 AI might be your jam. This 2.91-pound laptop rocks a slightly bigger 14.5-inch screen. You can choose between a sharp 2560 x 1600 IPS panel (350 nits brightness) or a 1920 x 1200 option (300 nits). Both support up to 120Hz refresh rates, so scrolling should be buttery smooth.

Like its siblings, you can max it out with 32GB of RAM. It’s got the same 1440p webcam setup, fingerprint reader, and most of the same ports (though USB4 instead of Thunderbolt). The Swift Go 14 AI starts at a more wallet-friendly $999 and should also be available this month.

Swift 16 AI

For those who like their screens a bit roomier, Acer’s also dropping a 16-inch model. This 3.3-pound laptop is Intel-only, offering Core Ultra 5, 7, or 9 processors. You get up to 2TB of storage and a single display option: a gorgeous 3K touchscreen OLED. It’s all powered by a hefty 75Wh battery, though interestingly, Acer’s being tight-lipped about battery life on this one.

Port-wise, you’re looking at two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, an audio jack, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The Swift 16 AI starts at $1,200 and should be hitting stores in October 2024.

Oh, and here’s a cool bonus – Acer’s new Intel and AMD Swift AI laptops will be joining the Copilot Plus PC family in November 2024. That means you’ll get access to some sweet Microsoft AI features that were previously exclusive to Qualcomm Snapdragon X PCs. And the best part? It’s a free update.
