Apple’s latest 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip is seeing one of its better discounts yet during Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event. The upgraded configuration with 16GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD is currently available for $1,399, down from its $1,599 list price, saving buyers $200.

It’s worth noting that this is not the entry-level MacBook Air. The deal applies specifically to the higher-capacity 1TB storage model, making it a compelling option for users who need extra space for large apps, photos, videos, or AI workloads without relying on external storage.

Apple‘s MacBook Air rarely sees deep discounts on upgraded storage configurations this soon after launch. While base models often receive modest price cuts, discounts on the 1TB version tend to be less common.

The $200 savings effectively upgrades you from the 512GB base storage configuration to 1TB without paying full retail, making this configuration especially attractive for students, creators, developers, and professionals planning to keep the laptop for several years.

What you get

The 13-inch MacBook Air features Apple’s latest M5 chip, designed to deliver faster CPU and GPU performance while maintaining the fanless design that has made the Air lineup popular.

Other highlights include:

  • 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display
  • Apple M5 processor
  • 16GB unified memory
  • 1TB SSD storage
  • 12MP Center Stage webcam
  • Touch ID
  • Wi-Fi 7
  • All-day battery life
  • Fanless, lightweight aluminum design

Should you buy it?

If you’ve been eyeing a MacBook Air but wanted more storage than the base model offers, this is one of the better configurations to buy. Paying a little more upfront for 1TB can help avoid the need for external SSDs later, especially if you work with photos, videos, Xcode projects, or large AI models.

However, if your workload is limited to web browsing, office work, and media consumption, the lower-capacity models may still provide better overall value.

Keep in mind that this $1,399 price is available as part of Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days promotion, so you’ll need an active Amazon Prime membership to receive the advertised discount.
