The latest updates from the WABetaInfo blog suggest that WhatsApp could be generating rich link previews when sharing a link as a text status update. The feature is currently in development progress so this may arrive in the future updates o WhatsApp or maybe arrive in WhatsApp Beta first.
As per the WABetaInfo note:
“WhatsApp is now working on some improvements for status updates. In particular, we have discovered that the company is developing the ability to generate rich link previews when sharing a link to your status update.”
In the above image, you can clearly see the difference between the current link status update when you share the link to status while the right-hand side image shows the rich preview of the link status update.
Earlier we said that this feature is in the development phase and maybe the company will schedule this update in the future updates to WhatsApp. For more details, check out the WABetaInfo post.
