The latest WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.22.8.1) suggests that the company is working on a yearly reminder for its Terms of Service in India. This TOS in India can be accessed and highlighted by a green dot in the WhatsApp Settings, which alerts users that something new has been added to the Help section.

Following navigating to WhatsApp Settings > Help, the user will notice a new action named “Yearly reminder of our Terms of Service,” which will take them to a page on their website about Terms of Service. Note that this does not reflect that WhatsApp will revise its Terms of Service: it is just a reminder, and it has no impact on the privacy of your messages, which remain end-to-end encrypted. Furthermore, as mandated by India’s Information Technology Rules 2021, the new reminder will only show in India.
