TikTok users can now buy concert tickets in-app: here's how it works

TikTok has become the new one-stop shop for concert tickets. The social media app recently expanded its partnership with Ticketmaster, allowing users to purchase event tickets directly within the TikTok app.

Originally launched in the US in August 2022, the TikTok feature connected users to Ticketmaster to secure seats for their favorite musicians, comedians, or sports teams. After a successful first year, TikTok and Ticketmaster extended the capability to 20 additional markets in December 2023, including the UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, and more.

Despite Ticketmaster’s patchy reputation with music lovers in recent years — epic queues, reseller scandals, and accusations of monopolization have plagued the ticketing titan — TikTok remains eager to leverage Ticketmaster’s dominance over event tickets worldwide.

For TikTok users keen to get tickets, here’s a how-to:

  1. Follow favorite artists and creators. Those using TikTok’s certified artist profiles can promote events directly to fans. Keep an eye out for the signature blue Ticketmaster tag on relevant videos.
  2. Click the Ticketmaster link when it appears on a video post. Videos will read “Get tickets for [artist name].”
  3. Complete ticket purchase. The link redirects straight to the artist’s Ticketmaster page to finish securing seats.

While ticketing tactics previously required fans to navigate outside TikTok, artists can now engage followers and ticket buyers in one centralized hub.
