As the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 approaches, Samsung has unveiled three new gaming monitors featuring their vivid OLED technology: the massive 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9, the flat 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8, and the blistering fast 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6.

The Odyssey OLED G6, in particular, stands out with its incredible spec sheet. At just 27 inches, it packs a smooth 1440p resolution and lightning fast 360Hz refresh rate — the fastest ever in an OLED monitor. Its speed comes courtesy of a new Samsung Display panel entering mass production, which companies like Dell and MSI are also utilizing.

Stepping up in size is the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8. It trades some speed for a super sharp 4K resolution while still offering a zippy 240Hz refresh rate. Lastly, the aptly named Odyssey OLED G9 goes ultrawide with a curved 49-inch panel rocking a unique 32:9 aspect ratio. It matches the G8’s 4K clarity and 240Hz fluidity.

The G8 and G6 represent Samsung’s first flat gaming screens. However, one missing option is a 32-inch 1440p model to replace the existing Odyssey G7.

Beyond their panel differences, all three monitors come equipped with an array of Samsung gaming-centric enhancements. There’s a built-in Smart TV platform for video streaming, a Gaming Hub for accessing cloud gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming, and SmartThings integration for managing other connected devices. A new Multi Control feature also lets you transfer images and text between the monitors and compatible Samsung laptops, tablets and smartphones.

For display performance, the monitors carry VESA’s DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. Input-wise, you get two HDMI 2.1 ports capable of 4K at 120Hz, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB hub. Samsung hasn’t provided exact pricing or release dates, but based on past launch timings, expect these new Odyssey monitors to be available for purchase later this year.
