According to a report by Sina News, an NIO ET5 model fell from the third floor of a parking lot on Wednesday in Jiading (Shanghai) causing two deaths. According to sources familiar with the situation, the engineers were testing the car’s operation when it was involved in the accident. It was later determined that the vehicle was in a parking lot.

The two people were taken to Shanghai Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital for treatment after the medical and rescue teams arrived. One of them passed away as a result of “ineffective rescue,” while the second was pronounced dead early on Thursday morning (June 23), following non-effective surgery outcomes.

The ET5 model has the most recent NIO Autonomous Driving (NAD). The EV manufacturer stated in early January that the car would progressively attain a safe and reassuring autonomous driving experience in situations including highways, metropolitan areas, parking, and battery swapping.
