If you have been waiting for the perfect excuse to turn your living room into a legitimate home theater, Walmart just dropped a deal that might be impossible to ignore. In a move that undercuts almost every competitor in the big-screen category, the retailer has slashed the price of the Hisense 75-inch Class H5 Series QLED 4K UHD Roku Smart TV to just $378.

Down from its typical list price of $499, this $121 discount pushes the price of a massive 75-inch Quantum Dot display into territory usually reserved for much smaller, standard LED entry-level sets. For context, finding a decent 65-inch TV under $400 is often a challenge; finding a 75-inch model with QLED technology for this price is practically unheard of.

$378 at Walmart

The headline feature here is undoubtedly the display technology. At this price point, most 75-inch TVs are standard LED-LCD screens, which can sometimes look washed out or lack vibrancy, especially in bright rooms.

The Hisense H5 Series uses Quantum Dot technology (QLED). Without getting too bogged down in the engineering, this means the TV uses a layer of microscopic particles to emit light more precisely. The result? A claims “billion shades of color” that offers significantly better saturation and brightness than a standard LED TV.

When you pair this color volume with Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10, you get a picture that pops. Highlights—like an explosion in an action movie or the glint of sun on a helmet in a football game—are brighter, while shadows retain more detail. It is a substantial visual upgrade for anyone coming from an older 1080p or basic 4K set.

Usually, sub-$400 TVs are a “no-go” zone for serious gamers, but the Hisense H5 brings a few unexpected features to the table. It supports Game Mode Plus, which includes a Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM).

  • What is VRR? If you own a PS5 or Xbox Series X, VRR synchronizes the TV’s refresh rate with your console’s frame rate. This eliminates “screen tearing” (where the image looks disjointed for a split second) and makes motion feel smoother.
  • What is ALLM? The TV automatically detects when you launch a game and switches to its lowest latency setting, ensuring that when you press a button on your controller, the action happens instantly on screen.

While this panel is likely limited to a 60Hz refresh rate (standard for this price bracket), the inclusion of VRR is a major win for budget-conscious gamers who still want a responsive experience on a giant screen.

The Hisense H5 runs on the Roku TV operating system, which remains a favorite among reviewers for its no-nonsense, easy-to-navigate interface. Unlike some smart TV platforms that clutter the home screen with ads and confusing menus, Roku keeps it simple: a grid of your apps (Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc.) and easy access to inputs.

It also plays nicely with your smart home ecosystem. The TV is compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa, allowing you to use voice commands to launch channels, search for movies, or control playback without hunting for the remote.

On the audio front, the TV utilizes DTS Studio Sound to create a virtual surround sound experience. While integrated TV speakers rarely match the power of a dedicated soundbar, this processing tech helps clarify dialogue and widen the soundstage, ensuring the audio does not feel “trapped” inside the cabinet.

Design-wise, Hisense has opted for a “bezel-less” look. The frame around the screen is razor-thin, allowing the picture to extend almost to the very edge. It is a modern touch that makes the TV look more premium than its price tag suggests.

Is it worth it?

If you are a cinephile demanding OLED-level blacks or a hardcore PC gamer needing 144Hz refresh rates, you will naturally need to spend significantly more. But for the vast majority of viewers—those who want to watch Sunday football, binge the latest Netflix series, or play console games on a screen that fills their entire field of vision—this deal is a standout.

You are getting 75 inches of QLED real estate, solid gaming features, and the user-friendly Roku platform for less than $380. As far as “bang for your buck” goes, this Hisense H5 deal at Walmart is currently the one to beat this Black Friday.
