If you have recently seen the words Meta One popping up and wondered whether Meta has suddenly decided that using Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp needs another monthly subscription, the short answer is: sort of.
Meta One is a new subscription service from Meta that bundles premium features, expanded AI access and professional tools across its apps. It covers Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI, with different plans aimed at everyday users, AI power users, creators and businesses.
And yes, the name does sound a little familiar if you have ever heard of Apple One. But Meta One is built around a rather different collection of services.
Meta introduced the service in September 2026, saying it launched with more than 50 features. The company also says more than 15 million subscriptions and trials have been recorded during the phased rollout. Importantly, Meta says the core versions of its apps and Meta AI will remain free. Meta One is essentially the paid layer for people who want additional features and more access to certain AI capabilities.
So, what exactly is Meta One?
Think of Meta One as an umbrella for Meta’s growing collection of paid features.
Before Meta One, the company had already introduced individual subscriptions such as Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus. Meta One brings those offerings together in larger bundles and adds expanded access to some of Meta’s more compute-intensive AI features.
For individual users, there are two main Meta One bundles: Core and Premium.
The Core plan costs $7.99 per month in the U.S. and combines the features of Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus with additional AI usage. That means subscribers can generate more images and videos with Meta AI, use Instagram’s AI-powered Restyle feature more often and get additional creative tools.
The Premium plan costs $19.99 per month and includes everything in Core, while giving subscribers more room to use Meta’s AI and creative features.

Meta isn’t replacing the free versions of its apps with Meta One. You can still use Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI without paying for Meta One. The subscription simply unlocks additional capabilities.
That’s an important distinction because Meta One isn’t quite “pay us or Facebook stops working.” It’s more like “pay us if you want the deluxe version.”
What are Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus?
Meta One also includes the individual app subscriptions that Meta launched before the broader bundle.
Instagram Plus costs $3.99 per month and adds features designed around customization, expression and interaction. Meta has introduced things such as custom fonts for DMs and Stories, notifications when certain people view your Story and DM previews.
Facebook Plus also costs $3.99 per month and adds customization options, more Reels insights and expanded reactions such as Super Hearts and Super Reactions.
WhatsApp Plus costs $2.99 per month and focuses more on personalization and organization. Meta says it includes exclusive themes and icons, special-effect stickers and the ability to pin more chats. The company is also testing features such as additional storage for chat and media backups and Focus Schedules.
So if you only care about one of those apps, you don’t necessarily need the full Meta One bundle.
What does Meta One offer creators?
This is where Meta One becomes much more interesting.
Meta has separate subscription bundles for creators and businesses, because the company isn’t only trying to sell prettier fonts and more AI-generated images. It also wants people who make money through its platforms to pay for professional tools.
The creator and business lineup starts with Essential at $14.99 per month. It includes tools for managing a professional presence, more access to Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp, a verified badge, a verified WhatsApp Business channel and impersonation protection, subject to successful verification.

The Advanced plan starts at $49.99 per month and adds more professional capabilities. These include scheduling Stories up to 30 days in advance, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights and the ability to give team members account access without sharing a password.
It also provides more linked devices, additional WhatsApp business broadcast credits and greater access to Meta Business Agent.
Meta also offers Expert, starting at $149 per month, and Max, starting at $499 per month. These plans are aimed at businesses and teams that need higher levels of feature access and Meta Business Agent capacity.
In other words, Meta One starts as a subscription for people who want more features and eventually turns into something much closer to a professional social-media toolkit.

What is Meta Business Agent?
One of the more important pieces of Meta One for businesses is Meta Business Agent.
It’s designed to help businesses communicate with customers using AI. Meta says its creator and business plans provide more access to the agent, allowing businesses to respond to customers around the clock through WhatsApp.
Meta also plans to add more agent capabilities over time for areas such as marketing, business operations, content creation and optimization.
That makes Meta One less about simply adding premium buttons to Instagram and more about turning Meta’s apps into an increasingly complete business platform.
Is Meta One an AI subscription?
Partly.
AI is one of the biggest reasons Meta is pushing Meta One, particularly for individual subscribers.
Meta says Core and Premium provide additional access to some of its more compute-intensive AI capabilities. Subscribers can generate and edit images and create videos with Meta AI, including features powered by Meta’s Muse models. Instagram’s Restyle tool is also part of the expanded AI experience.
But Meta AI itself isn’t becoming a paid-only service.
Meta says everyday Meta AI usage will remain free. The paid plans are designed for people who want more creative freedom and higher usage of the company’s AI tools.
That’s an increasingly common approach among AI companies: keep the basic assistant free, then charge users who want more generations, more powerful models or higher limits.
How much does Meta One cost?
In the U.S., Meta One’s pricing starts at $2.99 per month for individual single-product plans and $7.99 per month for the Core bundle. Premium costs $19.99 per month.
For creators and businesses, pricing starts at $14.99 per month and goes all the way to $499 per month.
| Meta One plan | Starting price | Who it’s for |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram Plus | $3.99/month | Instagram users |
| WhatsApp Plus | $2.99/month | WhatsApp users |
| Facebook Plus | $3.99/month | Facebook users |
| Core | $7.99/month | Individuals and AI users |
| Premium | $19.99/month | Heavy AI and creative users |
| Essential | $14.99/month | Creators and businesses |
| Advanced | $49.99/month | Growing creators and businesses |
| Expert | $149/month | Larger teams |
| Max | $499/month | Businesses operating at scale |
Meta notes that pricing, benefits and availability can vary depending on the region, app and account, so the exact options shown to a particular user may differ.
Is Meta One the same as Meta Verified?
No, although there is some overlap.
Meta Verified has traditionally focused on identity verification, impersonation protection and related account support. Meta One goes considerably further by bundling professional publishing, analytics, AI capabilities, customer-service tools and other features depending on the plan.
Verification is included with certain Meta One creator and business plans, but Meta says verification is optional for accessing the advanced tools in those plans.
So Meta One shouldn’t be thought of simply as “Meta Verified 2.0.” It’s a much broader subscription platform.
Will Meta One include more Meta products?
Yes.
Meta says the service launched with more than 50 features across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI, but that’s not where the company plans to stop.
Meta says Edits, its video-editing app, will eventually become part of the Meta One ecosystem through Edits Plus. The company also plans to expand Meta One to its AI glasses and other products over time.
That could make Meta One increasingly important as Meta connects its social apps, AI services, creative tools and hardware.
Today, it’s mostly a bundle of social-media and AI features.
Tomorrow, it could look a lot more like a subscription to the broader Meta ecosystem.
So, who is Meta One actually for?
For someone who casually scrolls Instagram, sends WhatsApp messages and checks Facebook once in a while, Meta One probably isn’t essential. The basic services aren’t going away, and Meta says their core experiences will remain free.
The subscription becomes more relevant if you regularly create content, use Meta’s AI tools heavily, run a business through Instagram or WhatsApp, or need professional publishing and analytics features.
That’s ultimately what Meta One is: a paid layer on top of Meta’s free ecosystem.
And considering how many apps Meta owns, calling it “Meta One” might actually make more sense than having users remember a small army of Plus subscriptions.
Of course, there is one unavoidable question whenever a company launches another subscription service in 2026:
How many monthly subscriptions are we supposed to remember again?
For now, at least, Meta One is the name to remember.
