Samsung is giving shoppers another way to get its latest flagship phones without buying them brand new. The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra have officially joined Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed lineup in the U.S., bringing the company’s newest Galaxy S series to its refurbished-phone program.
The move means customers can now buy a Certified Re-Newed Galaxy S26 directly from Samsung.com, with prices starting at $759 for the standard Galaxy S26. The Galaxy S26+ starts at $929, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at $1,099.
Unlike buying a used Galaxy phone from a third-party seller, Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed program is built around refurbishing the devices itself. Samsung says the phones are inspected by its specialists, repaired using 100% genuine Samsung parts, and fitted with a certified new battery before being sold again.
That new battery is one of the more notable parts of the program. Battery health can be one of the biggest unknowns when purchasing a used smartphone, but Samsung says every Certified Re-Newed device receives a certified new Samsung battery.
The phones also go through a 147-point quality inspection before being certified. Samsung says the process includes checking the device inside and out, replacing components when necessary, installing the latest software, and assigning a new IMEI number.
Galaxy S26 Certified Re-Newed prices
The Certified Re-Newed Galaxy S26 starts at $759, making it the least expensive entry point into Samsung’s current S26 flagship family through the company’s own store.
The Galaxy S26+ starts at $929, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at $1,099. Samsung is offering all three models in White, Sky Blue, Pink Gold, Black, Silver Shadow, and Cobalt Violet.
Samsung is also accepting trade-ins. Customers can receive up to $720 in credit when trading in an eligible phone toward a Certified Re-Newed Galaxy S26 device, although the actual value depends on the device being traded in and its condition.
The pricing also makes the Certified Re-Newed models an interesting alternative to buying new, particularly for shoppers who want Samsung’s latest hardware but don’t necessarily need a factory-sealed box.
It’s still the Galaxy S26 hardware
Buying a Certified Re-Newed model doesn’t mean stepping down to older Galaxy hardware. The S26 series retains the same flagship platform and Galaxy AI capabilities associated with the current generation.
Samsung says the Galaxy S26 family is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, with improvements across the CPU, GPU, and NPU compared with the previous generation. The phones also include Samsung’s newer adaptive Galaxy AI experiences, including Now Nudge and Now Brief.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra remains the top-end model in the lineup, while the Galaxy S26 and S26+ provide the smaller and larger conventional flagship options.
Samsung also says the S26 series is designed to receive seven generations of OS upgrades and security updates, giving the phones a lengthy software-support window even when purchased as Certified Re-Newed devices.
What does Samsung Certified Re-Newed actually include?
Samsung’s program is more involved than simply cleaning up a returned phone and putting it back on sale.
According to Samsung, Certified Re-Newed devices go through an expert inspection before any necessary components are replaced with genuine Samsung parts. Every device receives a certified new battery and has to pass 147 quality checkpoints.
The refurbished phones are then packaged in a new box with a data cable, quick-start guide, and SIM ejector pin. Samsung also says Certified Re-Newed phones come with free shipping and return benefits.
There’s also a one-year limited manufacturer warranty, the same length Samsung advertises for its new smartphones in the Certified Re-Newed program. Buyers can additionally choose Samsung Care+ for further protection.
For the S26 series specifically, Samsung says Care+ with Theft and Loss can be added, with coverage that includes accidental damage as well as battery and cracked-screen or back-glass repairs under the applicable plan terms.
Samsung is keeping the S26 Certified Re-Newed lineup exclusive
For now, Samsung says the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra Certified Re-Newed models are available exclusively through Samsung.com in the U.S.
That gives buyers a direct alternative to the usual used-phone marketplace. Instead of relying on an individual seller or an independent refurbisher, customers can purchase a refurbished Galaxy directly from Samsung with a new battery, genuine replacement parts, a quality inspection, and a one-year warranty.
It’s also another step in Samsung’s broader effort to extend the useful life of Galaxy devices. The company’s Certified Re-Newed program uses trade-in devices as the starting point for refurbishment, keeping those phones in circulation rather than sending them toward the waste stream.
For anyone who has been waiting for the latest Galaxy flagship to become more affordable, the arrival of the S26 family on Certified Re-Newed gives them another option. And unlike many used-phone purchases, the biggest unknown — the condition of the battery — is addressed before the phone reaches its next owner.
