Hisense’s new TV is basically a giant picture frame (and way cheaper than Samsung’s)

Hisense CanvasTV lets you display your favorite artwork when you're not watching TV. Plus, it offers a smooth 144Hz refresh rate for a great viewing experience.

Forget hiding that giant black rectangle on your wall – Hisense just launched a TV that looks more like a fancy picture frame than anything else. It’s called the CanvasTV, and it’s all about blending in with your home decor when you’re not busy catching up on Netflix.

Here’s the cool part: this artsy TV won’t wreck your wallet. The 65-inch version is already rocking store shelves at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy for $1,299.99 – that’s a good chunk cheaper than Samsung’s The Frame, which is basically the CanvasTV’s more expensive cousin. There’s also a smaller 55-inch model coming later this summer for around $999, making it even more budget-friendly.

Don’t let the fancy frame fool you – the CanvasTV isn’t all looks. It packs a punch with a super clear 4K QLED display and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, so your movies and shows will look amazing. The screen itself has a matte finish to cut down on glare, making it look even more like a real painting. Speaking of paintings, the CanvasTV comes with a pre-installed teak frame to complete the illusion. But hey, if teak clashes with your furniture, no worries! Hisense sells separate walnut and white frames so you can customize your TV art.

But the real magic happens when you’re not watching TV. The CanvasTV has a special “Art Mode” that cycles through a bunch of cool paintings, from classic Renaissance stuff to modern and abstract pieces. Feeling more creative? You can even display your own photos and artwork on the screen. Plus, there’s a built-in motion sensor that turns the TV off when nobody’s around, saving you some dough on your electricity bill.
