Editor’s note: This article is part of Day 4 (June 28, 2023) of the FTC vs. Microsoft and Activision Blizzard trial.

During the ongoing Microsoft FTC trial, Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision, disclosed the highly anticipated release window for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Kotick stated that the mobile version of the immensely popular game will be making its way to Apple and Android devices this Fall, narrowing down the previously known release window of 2023. This announcement has generated substantial excitement among fans, as they eagerly await the mobile adaptation of the renowned first-person shooter game.

Unlike its predecessor, Call of Duty: Mobile, which was developed by Chinese gaming company Tencent, Warzone Mobile is being created in-house by Activision. First unveiled in September of the preceding year, the mobile version has been meticulously crafted from the ground up to deliver an immersive and seamless experience for players on mobile platforms.

In an exclusive opportunity, we were granted access to a preview of Warzone Mobile, enabling us to get a firsthand experience of the game. After thorough exploration, we concluded that Activision has successfully managed to translate Warzone‘s essence onto mobile devices without compromising its core DNA. The game retains its distinct look and feel, with each modification implemented to ensure a smooth and engaging transition to the mobile platform. This commendable feat by Activision is poised to captivate players seeking the adrenaline-pumping action of Warzone on their smartphones or tablets.

Bobby Kotick’s testimony regarding the release date of Warzone Mobile is part of the Microsoft FTC trial, which holds immense significance for the fate of the proposed $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. This high-profile trial has attracted attention from industry observers, as the outcome could potentially reshape the gaming landscape and have far-reaching implications for both companies involved.
