ASUS refreshes ExpertBook B3 with AI-ready Core Series 3 chips

The B3 G2 refresh shows ASUS is serious about competing in the SMB and enterprise laptop space with modern silicon and long-term support.

ASUS just pulled the curtain back on its refreshed ExpertBook B3 G2, and honestly, this is one of those business laptop launches that quietly does a lot of things right without screaming for attention. If you write off “business laptop” as boring, this one might make you reconsider, because it’s packing genuinely current tech under a design that’s built to survive whatever the office (or the airport floor) throws at it.

The B3 G2 comes in two sizes, a 14-inch model (B3406CMA) and a 16-inch version (B3606CMA), and both start at a surprisingly light 1.45kg. That’s the kind of number that matters more than people give it credit for, especially if you’re the type who lugs a laptop between meetings, client sites, and the occasional airport lounge. ASUS also gave it a 180-degree lay-flat hinge, which sounds like a small thing until you’re trying to hand your screen across a table during a pitch, and suddenly it’s not so small.

Under the hood, ASUS is using Intel’s brand-new Core Series 3 chips, going up to a Core 7 Series 3 with integrated graphics. This is actually a pretty timely pairing, since Intel only rolled out this exact chip family back in April 2026, aiming it squarely at value-conscious business and consumer laptops that still want real AI muscle without the premium price tag of Intel’s higher-end Panther Lake lineup. The top Core 7 360 and 350 chips in that lineup pack six cores and an NPU rated at 17 TOPS, which lines up exactly with what ASUS is quoting for the B3 G2. For context, Intel says these chips deliver about 47% better single-thread performance and nearly triple the AI-related GPU performance compared to five-year-old hardware, so if your office is still running on pandemic-era laptops, the jump is real, not just marketing.

That NPU isn’t just a spec sheet flex either. It’s what powers things like the AI noise-canceling tech ASUS is touting for calls, plus smoother Microsoft Copilot integration baked right into the workflow. It’s part of a broader shift happening across the whole industry right now, where “AI PC” has basically become table stakes rather than a premium add-on, especially in the business laptop space where video calls and hybrid work are just the daily grind.

Where the B3 G2 really tries to earn its “business” label is security, and ASUS has bundled a whole suite under something they’re calling ExpertGuardian. It’s a mix of hardware and software protections, including NIST SP 800-193 compliance, TPM 2.0, dual ROM recovery, a dedicated Security Processor Unit, and even chassis-intrusion detection that flags if someone’s physically popped the case open. ASUS is also promising five years of BIOS and driver updates, which matters a lot for IT departments trying to keep fleets of laptops secure without constant hardware refreshes.

Then there’s the durability angle. ASUS says the B3 G2 passes MIL-STD-810H testing across 24 separate procedures, which is the same military-grade durability standard you’ll see thrown around by rugged laptop makers. Pair that with ASUS’s own ExpertCool thermal system, and the pitch here is a machine that won’t buckle under long, demanding workdays.

On the display side, you can get up to a 2.5K anti-glare panel running at 144Hz, which is a nice surprise for a business laptop, since most in this category still cap out around 60Hz. Add an up-to-FHD IR camera for video calls, and it’s clear ASUS is thinking hard about the fact that most “productivity” these days happens on a Zoom or Teams call, not just in spreadsheets.

Battery capacity tops out at 70Wh, which ASUS is positioning as good for a full workday without hunting for an outlet. Memory maxes out at 64GB DDR5, though only 32GB comes preconfigured out of the box, with the rest requiring a self-upgrade, and storage can go up to 4TB SSD, again with 1TB being the preconfigured ceiling. Connectivity includes optional WiFi 6E, so it’s not the absolute latest WiFi 7 standard, but it’s still solidly current for a business machine.

This isn’t happening in a vacuum. The AI laptop market is expected to balloon from roughly $41.6 billion this year to over $141 billion by 2033, and a big chunk of that growth is coming from businesses wanting on-device AI for things like real-time transcription, smarter security, and adaptive power management. ASUS dropping a Core Series 3-powered ExpertBook right as that chip generation matures is a pretty deliberate move to grab a slice of that budget-to-midrange business segment before rivals like Lenovo, HP, and Acer flood the market with their own Series 3 machines, since over 70 laptop designs from these brands are already in the pipeline.

For business owners and IT buyers, the ExpertBook B3 G2 lands in a sweet spot: modern AI features, solid security, and rugged build quality, all without needing to spring for a flagship-tier chip. ASUS hasn’t confirmed exact US pricing or a release date window yet, but given the global press push, expect broader availability details to follow soon.
