Apple fans, mark your calendars! It looks like we might be getting a glimpse of the seventh-generation iPad mini by the end of 2024. This juicy tidbit comes from none other than Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who has his finger on the pulse of all things Apple.

Just last month, Gurman hinted at some exciting developments on the horizon, mentioning that Apple is cooking up new iPads, including an upgraded iPad mini. Initially, he suggested that this new device might even debut at Apple’s upcoming October event, alongside the highly anticipated M4 Macs. However, his latest comments have taken a more cautious turn, referring to the launch as “potential,” leaving us all on the edge of our seats.

While Gurman hasn’t spilled the beans on specific upgrades for the new iPad mini, there’s plenty of buzz about what we could expect. Rumors are swirling about a faster chip, which could significantly enhance performance, along with improved front and rear cameras that might take your selfies and video calls to the next level. Apple fans have long complained about the “jelly scrolling” effect in portrait mode, and it sounds like a fix could be in the works, potentially putting an end to that annoying issue.

On the connectivity front, we might see the introduction of Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support, which would provide faster and more reliable connections. And if you’re into style, there are whispers of new color options that could make the iPad mini even more appealing.

In case you’re wondering about production timelines, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously mentioned that the next iPad mini is set to enter mass production in the latter half of 2024.

To jog your memory, the current iPad mini made its debut in September 2021, boasting impressive features like an 8.3-inch display, a USB-C port, a Touch ID power button, and the powerful A15 Bionic chip. The 5G support on cellular models and the 12-megapixel rear camera with Center Stage capabilities were also game changers. Plus, it supports the second-generation Apple Pencil, making it a versatile tool for creators on the go.
