If you’re a fan of Apple‘s latest innovations, there’s some exciting news on the horizon. Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman says that two cool new features are coming to your iPhone with the release of iOS 18.2, likely hitting our screens in December.

First up is the Image Playground. Apple describes it as a tool to “produce fun, original images in seconds.” Whether you’re looking to generate an image based on a simple description, tweak some concepts, or even pull in a person from your Photos library, Image Playground has got you covered. You’ll be able to adjust the style to match your Messages thread, a Freeform board, or even a Keynote slide. It’s all about making image creation as effortless and fun as possible.

Next on the list is Genmoji. This feature lets you create custom emojis right from your keyboard. Want an emoji that perfectly matches your chat? Just give a description, preview your creation, and tweak it until it’s spot-on. You can even make a Genmoji that resembles someone from your Photos library. Personalizing your messages just got a whole lot more interesting.

These two features are set to debut alongside other Apple Intelligence updates in iOS 18.2. But don’t forget, iOS 18.1, rolling out this October, will bring its own set of new tools. Expect enhanced writing tools, notification summaries, smart replies in Messages, phone call transcription, and a nifty “Clean Up” tool in the Photos app that swiftly removes unwanted objects from your pics.

Just a heads-up: Apple Intelligence will initially be available only on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 18.1 or later, and will support English initially, with more languages rolling out over the coming year.

And don’t miss Apple’s iPhone 16 event tomorrow, September 9th! Stay tuned for updates and our comprehensive Apple event roundup.
