Ring has launched an accessory that nobody asked for but somebody at the company apparently thought was absolutely necessary: an NFL-themed cover for its indoor security cameras.

Called the NFL Game Day Cam Cover, the officially licensed accessory turns a compatible Ring indoor camera into what is essentially a tiny football helmet. It is available for all 32 NFL teams, so whether your allegiance belongs to the Giants, Cowboys, Chiefs, Packers, Eagles or whoever else, your security camera can now represent the team right alongside you.

And yes, Ring is charging $24.99 for it.

Your Ring camera is now an NFL fan

The NFL Game Day Cam Cover is a snap-on accessory designed specifically for the Ring Indoor Cam and Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam. It requires no tools and can supposedly be installed in seconds by simply aligning it with the camera and snapping it into place.

The whole thing is shaped like a miniature football helmet, complete with the branding and colors of the selected NFL team. Ring describes it as essentially a jersey for your camera.

That might be the most Ring sentence ever written.

The company says the cover doesn’t interfere with the camera’s video performance, motion detection, two-way audio, microphone, lens or sensors. In other words, underneath the tiny helmet is still the exact same security camera you had before.

The only thing that has changed is that your camera can now look like it is ready for kickoff.

Why does this exist?

Ring’s explanation is that its customers already use their cameras during game-day gatherings, watch parties and other football-related celebrations. The company apparently saw people celebrating in front of their cameras and concluded that what these homes were missing was a $24.99 piece of plastic shaped like an NFL helmet.

Ring says the accessory is designed to add a personalized touch to indoor cameras and let fans show their team loyalty around the house. It also points out that households supporting different teams can swap covers, while particularly dedicated fans can presumably change them depending on the matchup.

There is even a “seasonal decorator” use case. So if you’ve ever looked at your Ring camera and thought, “You know what would really complete my football-themed living room?” Ring has heard you.

All 32 NFL teams are getting one

Unlike some licensed accessories that launch with only a handful of popular teams, Ring is offering the NFL Game Day Cam Cover for all 32 NFL franchises.

The covers are available for preorder starting September 9 for $24.99 through Ring and Amazon, with separate AFC and NFC shopping pages.

The accessory is timed to the beginning of the 2026 NFL season, which is probably the most sensible part of the entire idea.

Still, it is difficult to look at this and not wonder how we got here. Security cameras have spent years becoming smarter, smaller and more capable. Ring could have launched a new camera feature, improved local storage, added smarter detection or done practically anything useful.

Instead, it put an NFL helmet on the camera.

And honestly? That’s kind of hilarious.

At least Ring didn’t make you buy a new camera for the privilege. If you already own a compatible Ring Indoor Cam or Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam, $24.99 is all it takes to turn your security camera into the newest member of the team.
