As the temperature is going down, you know what it means. It’s time to revamp your closet for winter. If you love dressing up, you will love winter.

One can do so many interesting and clever things to create a fashionable look. And it doesn’t have to be expensive. Whether you plan to spend your winter clubbing, quality evenings with family, or hanging out with friends, here are some ways to revamp your wardrobe for this season:

1: Scarves

Scarves are a must-have accessory for winter. Along with looking chic, they keep you warm. Scarves come in a variety of options. You can get high-range scarves (cashmere Burberry scarf) or quilted scarves that are a little economical. An oversized plaid scarf looks wonderful too.

They look great with Eastern dresses too. I have recently paired it with Pakistani women’s dress and the combination was classic.

2: Turtlenecks

When we speak of winters, how can we forget turtlenecks? They accentuate your neck by giving a long illusion. You are free to pair them with anything; jeans, skirts, and trousers you name it.

Turtlenecks are unisex. If you like playing with colors, bright hues like mustard and red do wonder. On the other hand, those who prefer to stay classic should stick to black turtlenecks. They are best for both formal and casual occasions.

3: Get a coat

One of the many things I love about winter is wearing a coat. The first layer of your clothes is what people are likely to notice. Even if you are wearing a sweatshirt and you top it up with a coat (depending on how cold it is in your area), the look is acceptable.

Coats come in different shapes, sizes, and textures. The softly belted ones are in fashion too. Some people can carry an oversized coat very well while others can’t. If that’s not your style, then go for an alpaca coat that snugs well.

4: Thigh-high boots

That’s #2 on my list of favorite winter wardrobe items. I have got 5 different pairs of thigh-high boots. They look cute with turtleneck dresses. You can also pair them with skinny jeans and rock a casual chic look. They don’t have to be designer shoes. You can grab a pair from a local thrift shop and still look cool.

5: Flannels

I am a big fan of Flannels. I keep them in my wardrobe all year round. They add spunk to just about any outfit. They are simple yet elegant. You just have to accessorize them the right way. When you are not in the mood to wear one, just tie it around your waist.

6: Oversize sweaters

Oversized sweaters are a chic and comfortable option. They pair well with leather leggings and skinny jeans. And if you top it all up with a piece of chunky jewelry, it just looks lovely.

7: Knit beanie

Knit beanies are a must-have for a winter wardrobe. They keep you warm and appear stylish at the same time. You can wear them in a variety of ways. You can either cover your entire head and hair for a polished look. Or you can choose the one with a loose fit with your hair peeking out from underneath.

8: Black trousers

This versatile piece is another mandatory item in your winter wardrobe. You can pair black trousers with any pair of colors. There is nothing like tailored black trousers to capture the attention of the crowd.

9: High-waist skirt

Speaking of a high waist skirt, a great fabric material is suede. It’s highly wearable in winter. Pair it with tights or boots and you will become an instant fashionista. Get a skirt with buttons down the middle to add an extra flare.

10: Accessories

Accessories have always been a striking way to create a new look. It’s a winter trend to wear big earrings with bold colors. The best thing about accessories is that size doesn’t matter. They can be reused over the years.

11: Bold colors

Winter doesn’t have to be about neutral shades all the time. To add life to your wardrobe, don’t be afraid to pick bold colors. Royal blue, bright white, and emerald green are great winter shades. If you have been wearing pastels all summer long, bold colors in winter can bring a drastic change to your look.

12: Gloves

It’s winter and how can we forget about gloves? The royals (The Queen, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markel) are my inspiration for selecting gloves. They have always worn gloves with such a class.

Final thoughts

Much of what you want your winter wardrobe to look like depends on your personal choice. If you want to try something bold this year, simply go for options that are the opposite of your casual style. For instance, get a shawl for the dress and wear it to a family occasion.
