Twitter announced the launch of its new tool called “NFT profile pictures,” on Thursday which allows users to show their Non-fungible token (NFTs) profile pictures in a hexagonal shape rather than the regular circle.
At the moment, the feature is only available to iOS users who subscribe to Twitter’s Blue subscription service, which was launched in June 2021 and is now available to the United States and New Zealand users in November 2021. To store their NFT holdings, users must link their Twitter accounts to cryptocurrency wallets.
NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are digital assets that can take the shape of art, GIFs, music, short videos, or even your profile picture. What makes NFTs unique is that they are held on a blockchain (a publicly available digital database) that stores proof of ownership.
