  • Apple M1 Pro with 8-Core CPU and 14-Core GPU, 16GB Memory, 512GB SSD, Space Gray, Late 2021 — B&H Photo ($50 Saving)

16-inch MacBook Pro

  • Apple M1 Pro Chip with 10-Core CPU and 16-Core GPU, 16GB Memory, 512GB SSD, Silver, Late 2021 — Adorama ($100 Saving)

The new 14 & 16-inch MacBook Pro with Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max Chip debut at Apple’s Unleashed event which was held on October 18th, 2021. The latest MacBook Pro models feature totally redesigned MacBook Pros that provide unrivaled power efficiency and portability. Instead of removing ports, Apple introduced the exact number of ports that users require.

The Apple M1 Pro processor includes a 10-core CPU with eight high-performance cores and two efficiency cores, as well as up to 32GB of unified memory. In comparison to the M1, you receive a 70% boost in CPU performance. There’s also a 16-core GPU (up from eight cores previously), which boosts graphics performance by up to 2x.

The Apple M1 Max is a powerful chip with a memory bandwidth of up to 400 GB/s (compared to 200 GB/s for the M1 Pro). You have up to 64GB of unified memory, which is twice as much as the M1Pro. There’s a 10-core CPU, but the visuals are considerably more powerful thanks to a 32-core GPU.

On one side, there’s an HDMI port, Thunderbolt 4 port, and SD card slot. On the other hand, you’ll find a headphone jack and two thunderbolts on the back. MagSafe 3 also brings back the MagSafe charger. You can still charge with a thunderbolt if you prefer. The M1 Pro can connect to two external monitors, while the Pro Max can connect to three XDR displays. This still leaves you with more ports to work with and eliminates the need for additional adapters.

Apple appears to have finally removed the touch bar and replaced it with tactile keys. The backlit keyboard is anodized black, and there’s a force touch trackpad. The display also has a notch, and the bezels are narrower. Apple showed information where the notch ate into it at times and did not at other times. The 120Hz refresh rate of the ProMotion display automatically changes to the content you’re watching. Rather than having the refresh rate adjust automatically, creators of all types can control it.

The studio-quality mics were also given an upgrade, with a noise floor that was reduced by 60%. Larger tweeters produce crisper mid-range sound. Meanwhile, the larger woofer provides for a wider range of motion and the capacity to push more air, resulting in an increase in the bass of almost 80%. When watching movies, both models enable spatial audio for a theater-like experience.

14 & 16-inch MacBook Pro battery life & price

All of those are, without a doubt, the most powerful MacBooks ever made. Whether plugged in or not, they are incredibly energy efficient. The battery life has increased to 21 hours. They come in two colors: silver and space grey. The new 16-inch MacBook Pro starts at $2,499 (INR 239,900), while the 14-inch MacBook Pro will cost $1,999 (INR 194,900). And don’t forget the very first discount which we have listed above.
