Apple just said “Hello” to Instagram — and this time, it’s not just about pretty iPhone photos.

The tech giant launched a brand-new Instagram account called Hello Apple (@helloapple) on March 12, and it’s shaping up to be quite different from what Apple fans are used to seeing on the platform. While Apple’s existing @apple account has always been laser-focused on its iconic Shot on iPhone campaign, Hello Apple is designed to be a more all-around destination — covering company news, product marketing, creator stories, and even the occasional behind-the-scenes peek.

The account’s bio sums it up pretty well: “Our stories, and yours.” It’s a warmer, more human touch from a company that has traditionally kept its social media presence very polished and product-centric. Apple has already kicked things off with a simple but classic “Hello” video — a nod to the company’s iconic greeting that goes all the way back to the original Macintosh — along with a post featuring CEO Tim Cook‘s heartfelt “50 Years of Thinking Different” letter.

The timing here is no coincidence. Apple turns 50 on April 1, 2026, and the company has announced plans to celebrate the milestone over the coming weeks. Hello Apple feels like a big part of that push — a way for Apple to connect with fans on a more personal level as it reflects on half a century of innovation.

The new account already racked up 76,000 followers with just six posts, and one of its first reels already crossed 25,000 likes. For context, Apple’s main @apple account sits at over 36 million followers — so the new account has a long way to go, but the early momentum is hard to ignore.

Beyond the main @apple and now @helloapple pages, Apple also runs dedicated accounts for Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple News, Apple Books, Apple Fitness+, and Apple Creator Studio. It’s a growing social media empire, and Apple has been quietly expanding it — including getting more active on TikTok, where it recently opened up comments on its videos. Hello Apple just adds another colorful layer to that strategy.
