The Pixel 8 boasts a cutting-edge 6.2-inch OLED Actua display, featuring improved brightness and clarity. Despite its slightly smaller size compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 7, the Pixel 8 packs a bigger 4485mAh battery, capable of rapid charging. Google offers a 30W USB-C 3.0 charger, although it’s not included with the phone.

Under the hood, you’ll find Google’s latest Tensor G3 chip, promising enhanced photo processing and better spam call filtering. You can choose between 8GB of RAM and storage capacities of 128GB or 256GB. The device sports a metal frame and polished back glass, and is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

Camera-wise, the Pixel 8 features a 10.5MP front camera and a 50MP/12MP rear camera combination, improved by software features like Macro focus and Best Take for group photos. Google’s commitment to sustainability means they’ll provide seven years of OS upgrades, security updates, and new features. Pricing starts at $699, and pre-orders are open now, with shipping beginning next week. Pre-ordering from Google gets you a free pair of Pixel Buds Pro or $200 off the Pixel Watch 2.

The Pixel 8 Pro boasts the best Pixel camera yet, with a triple-lens setup featuring a 50MP wide, a 48MP ultrawide, and a 48MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The 10.5MP selfie camera also has autofocus. The 6.7-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED display offers a dynamic 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2400 nits of brightness, and ultra HDR. It’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and housed in a polished aluminum frame with a matte glass back.

Powered by the Tensor G3 chip, it offers AI enhancements, including an improved Google Assistant. With options for 12GB of RAM and storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, it’s a powerhouse. The Pixel 8 Pro includes an infrared sensor, capable of measuring temperatures, and Google has applied for FDA approval to use it as a thermometer for people. Like its counterpart, it promises seven years of updates and features support. Prices start at $999, with shipping beginning next week. Google sweetens the deal with a free Pixel Watch 2 or Pixel Buds Pro when you pre-order from their storefront.

The Pixel Watch 2 addresses the battery life and Fitbit integration concerns of its predecessor. With a claimed 24-hour battery life, even with the always-on display, it’s an improvement. Fitbit features, including heart rate sensing, stress management, and safety features, take center stage. Safety Check can alert contacts or emergency services when needed, while Emergency Sharing shares your real-time location with trusted contacts.

The watch features a housing made from 100 percent recycled aluminum and an AMOLED screen covered in 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Fitness features behind Fitbit’s paywall come with six months of free subscription. The updated Fitbit app will bring more AI features later this year. Priced at $349 for the Wi-Fi version and $399 for the cellular model, it comes in Black Aluminum, Polished Silver, or Champagne Gold cases with various colored bands. Shipping starts next week.

While not entirely new, the Pixel Buds Pro received substantial updates. Conversation Detection pauses music when you’re talking to someone, and Clear Calling reduces background noise for better phone conversations. They also come in two new colors, Porcelain and Bay, matching the new Pixel 8 Pro phones.

Now that you’re well-informed about these exciting Google releases, you can pre-order the devices of your choice and look forward to enjoying their cutting-edge features and capabilities.
