T-Mobile has certified the FG360-NA 5G module from Fibocom, a Chinese company, to deliver wireless connection services including FWA (fixed wireless access) in the United States.

“We are proud to see our 5G module FG360-NA being certified by T-Mobile,” said Gene Santana, vice president at Fibocom. “The module is now fully capable to be deployed in the US IoT market. Fibocom will continue to enable industry digital transformation with our advanced 5G technology.”

The module supports the 5G NR sub-6GHz spectrum with up to 4.67Gbit/s on the downlink and 1.25Gbit/s on the uplink theoretically, enabling 5G speeds. It is based on MediaTek’s T750 FWA CPE custom 5G SoC chipset.

The module, which is integrated with T750, has a high level of integration and performance, covering the worldwide main frequency band as well as ENDC with NA and EAU SKUs. The module supports 5G standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) architectures, as well as LTE and WCDMA network standards, which helps reduce investment complexity in the early stages of 5G deployment.

The module supports 5G sub-6GHz 2CC CA (carrier aggregation) up to 200MHz and has a built-in quad-core, 2GHz Arm Cortex-A55 CPU to increase the use of spectrum resources and assure extended 5G coverage. End devices can use Wifi 6 AX1800, AX3600 (mainstream), AX4200, and AX6000 configurations to benefit from high-speed 5G and Wifi 6 connectivity. GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo, and QZSS are all supported by the module.

2.5Gbit/s SGMII, USB 3.1, 3.0, and 2.0, PCIe 3.0, GPIO, I2S, and UIM are among the interfaces available. FCC, CE, and PTCRB have all given their approval to the module series, and commercial samples are ready for mass production.

Fibocom is a provider of wireless communication IoT modules and the first wireless module provider in China to be listed on the stock exchange. It offers telecom operators, IoT device manufacturers, and IoT system integrators end-to-end IoT wireless communications. It is capable of creating wireless communication modules independently, including 5G, LTE, LTE-A, NB-IoT, LTE-M, Android Smart, Android Automotive, WCDMA, HSPA+, GSM, GPRS, Wifi, and GNSS, thanks to its over two decades of experience in M2M and IoT communication technology.
