Apple has just dropped the news: iOS 18 is set to hit our iPhones on September 16th. And if you’re someone who loves tweaking their device to fit their style, you’re in for a treat.
This update brings some cool new features that let you personalize your homescreen and lockscreen like never before. You can now rearrange your apps and widgets with more freedom and even give them a fresh look. But that’s not all — Apple’s giving the Control Center a makeover and introducing a brand-new password management app. Plus, satellite messaging support is coming, so you can stay connected even in remote areas.
iOS 18 also spices up your messaging experience with new text effects and gives the Photos app a nice overhaul. The Mail app isn’t left out either, with new ways to keep your inbox organized.
But if you’re hoping for those fancy Apple Intelligence features like text rewriting and image generation, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. These goodies will be rolled out in the iOS 18.1 public beta starting in October, along with a more chatty Siri.

And it’s not just iOS 18 getting an update. On September 16th, Apple is also rolling out macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2. macOS Sequoia will let you mirror your iPhone screen to your Mac, watchOS 11 is adding some nifty new training features, and visionOS 2 will give you an ultrawide virtual Mac display. Unfortunately, there’s still no word on tvOS 18, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for that.
