Anker has quietly dropped what might be its most inventive car accessory in years: the Nano Wireless Car Charger. If you’ve ever wrestled with the limitations of windshield or air‑vent mounts—where glare, blockage of your view, or flimsy clip grips can turn your smartphone into a shimmying, half‑functional hazard—this charger promises a breath of fresh air (and, more importantly, a steadier view) by sticking directly to your dashboard with a bendy, tongue‑like arm you can position however you like.

Traditional car mounts tend to fall into two camps: suction‑cup gadgets plastered to your windshield (every so often resigning to gravity and peels), or clips that wedge into air vents (which can block airflow, struggle with heavier phones, or even warp vent slats over time). Anker’s take is to skip both entirely and lean on a 3M‑style adhesive pad that grips flat surfaces—faux leather, plastic, wood, or metal dashboards all qualify—meaning you can bird’s‑eye your phone from practically anywhere on your dash. Just be patient: Anker recommends leaving the mount untouched for a full 48 hours after sticking it down (without attaching the charging arm) to let the adhesive bond fully to the surface before you hang your phone on it.

What really sets this charger apart is the striking, mile‑long tongue of a charging arm, made from what Anker calls a “flexible memory alloy.” One end attaches to your dashboard mount via Velcro for easy removal (a thoughtful touch if you need to stow it before parking in a shady lot), while the other secures the magnetic charging puck on a ball joint, letting you swivel and tilt to your heart’s content. The arm bends a full 180 degrees up and down and holds its shape without drifting—finding that perfect, glare‑free angle is as simple as shaping a bendy straw.

The charging head itself can rotate 360° and tilt up to 45°, offering fine‑tuned positioning even after you dock your phone.

Underneath the fun design lives a Qi2‑certified charger capable of delivering up to 15W of wireless power—enough to top off the latest iPhone or any Qi2‑compatible Android phone at a respectable clip.

However, you’ll need a magnet‑friendly phone to make use of it. There’s no mechanical clamp, so only phones with built‑in magnetic attachment—MagSafe‑equipped iPhones or Android handsets adopting the new Qi2 magnet‑alignment spec—will stick securely. If you have an older phone or one without a magnetic array, you’ll need to slot it into a more traditional cradle instead.

Installation feels like setting up a car gadget from a decade ago—sticking the adhesive base, letting it cure, snapping on the arm, and plugging the charging puck in. You’ll still need to feed the charger’s USB‑C cable into your vehicle’s power source (either a USB port or a 12V “cigarette lighter” socket via the included adapter). Once powered, magnetically dock your phone and let the Qi2 pad handle the rest.

Price, availability, and where to buy

While the new charger isn’t yet live on Anker’s US website, you can snap one up today on Amazon US for US $59.99. Over in the UK, Anker lists it on its own store for £49.99.

Anker’s Nano Wireless Car Charger isn’t perfect—MagSafe‑only operation narrows its audience, and the 48‑hour curing time tests your patience. But for anyone who hates the bulk and fuss of conventional car mounts, those downsides may be worth it for the freedom to spring a “tongue mount” wherever you need it. With up to 15W of Qi2‑certified charging, a detachable magnetic puck, and a wildly bendy arm, it’s as playful as it is practical—just give it two days to stick before you trust it with your daily commute.
