YouTube now sells Peacock Premium and Premium Plus

Adding Peacock through YouTube keeps billing in one place, but the ad-free Premium Plus plan still shows ads during live sports and select events.

Peacock just made itself a whole lot easier to find on YouTube. As of this week, both tiers of Peacock — the ad-supported Premium plan and the pricier, mostly ad-free Premium Plus tier — are available to subscribe to directly through YouTube’s Primetime Channels hub, meaning you can add NBCUniversal’s entire streaming library to your YouTube account without ever opening a separate app or website.

If you’ve been keeping half an eye on this space, you’ll remember that Peacock’s Premium Plus tier first landed on Primetime Channels back in late June, priced at $16.99 a month at the time. The bigger update came on September 2, when Google flipped the switch on the base Peacock Premium plan — the cheaper, ad-supported one — so now both tiers sit side-by-side as add-on options inside YouTube’s channel storefront. For anyone who’s been juggling five different streaming apps just to catch NBC’s Sunday Night Football or a Bravo marathon, this is a small but genuinely useful bit of consolidation.

Here’s the part that matters most for anyone thinking about jumping in right now: Peacock quietly raised prices across the board just before this rollout. Premium Plus went from $16.99 to $19.99 a month, and the standard ad-supported Premium tier climbed from $10.99 to $12.99 a month, with annual plans following the same trajectory. So whatever price you see floating around in older articles or social posts, know that it’s already out of date — this is Peacock’s fourth price increase in about two years, and it lines up with a broader pattern across the streaming industry where “temporary” launch pricing rarely stays temporary.

The timing here isn’t an accident. Peacock holds the exclusive English and Spanish-language streaming rights to a chunk of FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage, and Telemundo — NBCUniversal’s Spanish-language network — is bringing full match coverage and commentary to the platform as well. By baking Peacock straight into YouTube Primetime Channels, NBCUniversal is essentially meeting a massive chunk of its potential audience where it already lives, since YouTube’s reach in U.S. households, especially through smart TVs, dwarfs almost anything else in the streaming space right now.

There’s also a clever little on-ramp built into this: select World Cup matches will get a free 10-minute preview window on Telemundo Deportes’ own YouTube channel before viewers are prompted to subscribe to Peacock to keep watching. It’s a classic “get a taste, then pay” hook, and it’s smart precisely because World Cup soccer draws in casual viewers who might not otherwise think to open a dedicated streaming app mid-match.

Beyond soccer, Peacock’s channel lineup is stacked with the kind of stuff that keeps people around long after the tournament ends — Sunday Night Football, NBA and WNBA games, MLB, Big Ten and Notre Dame college football, and Premier League soccer on the sports side, plus a real bench of scripted and reality programming like Love Island USA, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, Law & Order: SVU, The Traitors, and even The Office for anyone doing a comfort-watch rewatch.

YouTube Primetime Channels works a bit differently than people expect. You’re not paying YouTube anything extra — the platform itself stays free — you’re just paying for each individual channel subscription, and prices vary wildly depending on which service you pick, ranging anywhere from about $1.99 a month for something niche like Law & Crime Network up to nearly $18.49 for HBO Max.

Here’s how Peacock’s two tiers on Primetime Channels compare right now:

PlanMonthly PriceAnnual PriceAds
Peacock Premium$12.99/month$129.99/yearYes
Peacock Premium Plus$19.99/month$199.99/yearLimited (mostly live sports/events)

That price gap between the two tiers is worth sitting with for a second. Seven dollars a month buys you the removal of most ads and the ability to download shows for offline viewing, though Peacock is upfront that ads still show up in live sports, live events, and a handful of shows and movies even on the higher tier.

What’s happening with Peacock is really just one piece of a much larger shift where YouTube has quietly turned itself into a one-stop shop for third-party streaming subscriptions — the Primetime Channels catalog now runs to more than 50 different services, everything from Paramount+ with SHOWTIME to horror-focused Screambox to genre stuff like Crunchyroll. For publishers and viewers alike, that’s the real story here: YouTube isn’t trying to build its own version of Netflix; it’s positioning itself as the neutral middleman that every other streamer eventually wants to be listed on, because that’s where the eyeballs already are.

If you’re already deep into the YouTube ecosystem and don’t want another app cluttering your smart TV home screen, adding Peacock through Primetime Channels is about as frictionless as this stuff gets. Just go in expecting 2026 pricing, not the numbers that were floating around when this feature first launched back in June.
