With Halloween only a few days away, you might want to start binge-watching all of your favorite horror movies and falling asleep in your bed, munching on popcorn. Perhaps you’ve already begun your spooky time trial since October began!

However, if you’re looking for a complete list of all the best classic horror movies to watch, keep scrolling down! This Halloween, we’ve curated a special movie collection that will have you hanging on for dear life.

1. IT

IT has been one of Stephen King’s most popular works since the 1990s, and it has recently gained an even larger viewership as a result of its well-received movie versions in 2017 and 2019. IT, starring A-list actors, has successfully spooked its audience for decades by using bizarre imagery, an original plotline, and a shocking opening without fail.

2. Friday the 13th

Any horror fan is familiar with the classic movie Friday the 13th. If you enjoy slasher films with unrelenting suspense, this classic piece is for you.

3. Scream

For many years, this monumental horror movie series has chilled our bones. Scream is a true classic psychological thriller that defined the genre, with just the right amount of gore, humor, and suspense.

4. Silence of the Lambs

When it comes to getting into the Halloween spirit, this Academy Award-winning movie is not to be missed. The intricate plot, top-notch acting performances by Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, and chilling cinematography are simply breathtaking.

5. Carrie

What better way to celebrate the occasion than with a classic revenge horror film? This movie accurately portrays the struggles that many young girls face, with its plot centered on the journey of a girl transitioning to adolescence.

Carrie is a movie about women’s empowerment in some ways, from the bullying and body image issues that the main character faced to the satisfying ending. It’s safe to say that’s one of the reasons it’s so popular among horror fans.

6. Coraline

Coraline is anything but a kid’s movie, despite its stop-motion animation style. This movie tells the tale of a lonely, unhappy young girl who has recently moved into this mysterious new house with her dismissive parents. She then discovered a hidden tunnel through which she can travel to a parallel world where everything is perfect (including her parents! ), but there is a catch.

7. Get Out

Jordan Peele’s ground-breaking debut into the horror genre with Get Out has left a lasting impression on horror fans. This social-psychological-horror film established an entirely new subgenre in the horror community, winning numerous awards for its intriguing concept and shocking twists.

8. Poltergeist

We would like to bring you back to reminisce on these memorable and chilling visuals that the entire film series had provided us with for the past few decades, as the entire narrative of the classic horror movie Poltergeist is creepy entities disrupting electric appliances.

9. The Ring

Both the original Japanese version and the Western transition were terrifying on a whole new level, leaving the audience permanently scarred. The seven-day curse that befalls whoever watches the forbidden tape is extremely unsettling, which is why The Ring received such a high rating (deservedly so).

10. The Shining

One more popular choice among fans is Stephen King’s novel The Shining, adapted into a movie, that has captivated audiences for the longest time since its publication. The first film adaptation, released in 1980, scared audiences around the world with its brilliant screenplay. The film essentially captures a simple narrative of how isolation, stress, and manipulation can lead to a man doing unthinkable things.
