Samsung has officially unveiled SmartThings Pro, an enterprise-grade platform designed to bring AI-powered automation and remote management to HVAC systems and beyond. The launch at AHR 2026 signals Samsung’s ambition to move SmartThings from a consumer smart home ecosystem into a full-fledged enterprise solution for building management.

At its core, SmartThings Pro is about scale. Samsung is pitching it to HVAC contractors, service organizations, and property managers who are increasingly tasked with overseeing sprawling portfolios of residential and commercial sites. The platform consolidates diagnostics, ticketing, and automation into a single dashboard, giving teams the ability to monitor multiple locations in real time. Instead of dispatching technicians for every anomaly, SmartThings Pro enables remote troubleshooting, including adjustments to system settings and resets. This not only cuts down on unnecessary site visits but also helps organizations respond faster to issues, a critical advantage in industries where downtime can be costly.

Energy optimization is another major selling point. SmartThings Pro integrates routine-based controls and logic-driven automation, allowing operators to standardize workflows and reduce manual intervention. By tracking energy usage trends across sites, managers can identify inefficiencies and implement strategies that lower consumption. In an era where sustainability targets are becoming non-negotiable, Samsung is positioning SmartThings Pro as a tool that helps businesses meet performance expectations while keeping energy costs in check.

What makes this launch particularly interesting is that Samsung isn’t limiting SmartThings Pro to HVAC. The company is framing it as a broader enterprise platform that can manage smart displays, lighting, and energy systems across industries like hospitality, retail, food and beverage, and multifamily housing. By unifying device data and workflows, SmartThings Pro aims to simplify operations for organizations that juggle complex building environments. Think of a hotel chain that wants consistent climate control, lighting, and energy management across hundreds of properties—SmartThings Pro is designed to be that command center.

Samsung executives have been candid about the pressures HVAC teams face: more systems, more sites, higher performance expectations, and fewer resources. Chanwoo Park, EVP at Samsung’s B2B Integrated Offering Center, described SmartThings Pro as a way to “bring HVAC data, workflows, and automation into a single enterprise platform.” That framing underscores Samsung’s strategy to move beyond consumer convenience into enterprise efficiency.

The timing of this launch is notable. Competitors like Honeywell and Johnson Controls have long offered enterprise HVAC and building management solutions, but Samsung’s entry leverages its existing SmartThings ecosystem, which already has millions of connected devices worldwide. By extending that ecosystem into enterprise environments, Samsung is betting that familiarity and integration will give it an edge. For businesses already dabbling in SmartThings for consumer-facing applications, SmartThings Pro could be a natural expansion.

Ultimately, SmartThings Pro reflects a broader trend: the convergence of smart home technology with enterprise building management. What started as a way to control lights and thermostats from a smartphone is now evolving into a platform capable of managing entire portfolios of properties. For Samsung, this is more than just a product launch—it’s a statement about where the future of connected environments is headed. And for HVAC professionals and property managers, it could be the difference between reactive firefighting and proactive, data-driven operations.
