Ola Electric has launched its third electric scooter in India, the Ola S1 Air. It is the brand’s most affordable product, with an introductory price of Rs.79,999. (ex-showroom including FAME II subsidy).

The Air version of the scooter differs from the S1 and S1 Pro in several ways. To begin with, while the overall bodywork is nearly identical, the lower portion of the S1 Air is finished in black, giving it a more toned-down look. It also receives new wheels and a more traditional-looking pillion grab rail. There are five color options available: blue, white, red, black, and grey.

Looking at its hardware, the S1 Air is pushed by a smaller 4.5kW hub-mounted motor, as opposed to the mid-mounted motor found in its more expensive siblings. Likewise, the battery pack is a smaller 2.5kWh unit with a claimed IDC range of 101km. According to Ola, the vehicle’s top speed is a respectable 90kmph. To save money, Ola has scrimped on the braking hardware, equipping it with a drum at both ends and no disc as an option.

Surprisingly, buyers of the Ola S1 Air will receive a nearly as comprehensive electronic suite as those of the company’s higher-end models. The list of features includes three riding modes: Eco, Regular, and Sport. A seven-inch touchscreen display, multiple ride profiles, smartphone connectivity, and music and call control are also included. It also has a party mode that plays music through its speakers via the connected smartphone.

Starting today, interested buyers can reserve/pre-book the Ola S1 Air online for Rs.999, and the payment window will open in the first week of February 2023. Meanwhile, deliveries are expected to begin in the first week of April 2023.
