Nintendo’s latest gadget isn’t a new console, but it might still wake up plenty of interest—literally! The company has announced Alarmo, a motion-sensing alarm clock, set for release in early 2025. What makes Alarmo stand out isn’t just its sleek design or the fact that it’s Wi-Fi-connected. It’s the immersive features that fans of Nintendo’s worlds will love.

The clock responds to your movements, so instead of smacking a snooze button, you can simply wave it off or even get up to stop it. It also pulls ambient soundscapes from five different Nintendo games at launch: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, Super Mario Odyssey, and Ring Fit Adventure. As if that wasn’t enough, more sounds from Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 are coming in future updates, giving users 35 total audio scenes to choose from.

For sleep enthusiasts, Alarmo offers sleep-tracking features, showing how much you move while snoozing. It can also help you wind down at night with soothing bedtime sounds. There are multiple alarm modes to suit different preferences, including a traditional button mode for those who prefer a classic snooze setup.

The clock display shows the time as 12:00 PM, the date as 3/10 Mon, and an alarm set for 7:00 AM. The clock is connected to a power source with a black cable. The background includes a curtain and a blurred view of greenery outside a window. This image shows a modern smart clock on a bedside table, highlighting its digital display and connectivity. It is interesting as it showcases contemporary home technology designed for convenience and functionality in a bedroom setting.

Right now, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can get their hands on Alarmo early, but the general release is expected in January 2025. It’s priced at $99.99, and while it’s not the next-gen Switch, it’s a quirky new piece of Nintendo hardware that fans might want on their nightstands.
