At the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, LG is set to turn heads with its latest innovation in home entertainment: the introduction of two all-in-one “lifestyle projectors.” These devices promise to blend seamlessly into your living space, not just as functional gadgets but as stylish pieces of furniture. However, while they might look stunning when turned off, their performance could be another story when it comes to picture quality.
LG PF600U: a triple threat
First on LG’s lineup is the PF600U, which ambitiously merges three different functionalities into one sleek design. This device acts as a full HD projector, a Bluetooth speaker, and an LED mood lamp. Weighing in at a hefty 7.5kg, this projector isn’t lightweight, but it makes up for it with versatility. The projector itself offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080, but its brightness caps at 300 ANSI lumens. This means you’ll need a dark room to get the best out of your movies or shows, as the image quality might suffer in ambient light.
The PF600U stands out with its unique design, mimicking a traditional floor lamp with a 110-degree tilting head. This feature, along with an automatic screen adjustment function, allows for easy positioning and fine-tuning of the image wherever you place it in your room. Accompanying the projector are two speakers, though details on their quality or specifics are sparse, leaving potential buyers to wonder about the audio experience. Additionally, the LED lamp can change colors, providing nine different hues and five brightness settings to match or set the mood of any room.
LG CineBeam S PU615U: miniature marvel
The second projector, the LG CineBeam S PU615U, targets those looking for space efficiency without compromising on image quality. This model is LG’s smallest 4K ultra-short throw (UST) projector to date, with dimensions that make it incredibly compact at just 4.3 x 6.3 x 6.3 inches (110 x 160 x 160mm). It’s designed to project massive, crisp 4K images from a very short distance thanks to its laser (RGB) light source.
Despite its small size, the CineBeam S kicks out 500 ANSI lumens, which is brighter than the PF600U but still might struggle in well-lit environments. It comes equipped with stereo speakers supporting Dolby Atmos, hinting at a more immersive audio experience than its counterpart. The real test will be how well it performs in real-world scenarios, especially with ambient light, where even a slight compromise in brightness can significantly affect viewing quality.
The mystery of availability
LG has kept details like pricing, exact release dates, and available countries under wraps, perhaps to stir up anticipation or to keep the competition guessing. This strategy could work wonders at CES, where the physical demonstration of these projectors might just sway opinions and spark interest among tech enthusiasts and consumers alike.

While these projectors are set to be showstoppers at CES, the true measure of their success will be how they integrate into everyday life. Will they become the centerpiece of living rooms, or will they be just another novelty? The design is undoubtedly appealing, and the integration of multiple functions into one device speaks to the evolving nature of home entertainment technology. However, the real challenge for LG will be ensuring that these lifestyle projectors don’t just look good but also perform well under the scrutiny of varied lighting conditions and user expectations.
As we edge closer to CES 2025, keep an eye on these intriguing devices. They might just redefine what we expect from our home projectors, or at least offer a stylish new way to watch our favorite content.
