Using Face ID to unlock your iPhone has become a bit of a hassle. Fortunately, with the release of iOS 15.4, Apple has already provided a solution to this problem.
If you own an iPhone 12 or later running iOS 15.4 or later, you can take advantage of the new feature that allows you to use Face ID while wearing a face mask. The feature works by using the features around your eyes to authenticate that it’s really you, even if you are wearing a mask.
Here’s how to set up Face ID with a mask
Step 1: Make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 15.4 or later.
Step 2: Open Settings and tap on “Face ID & Passcode.”
Step 3: Scroll down and turn on “Face ID with a Mask.”
That’s it! Once you’ve completed these steps, you can now use your Face ID while wearing a face mask. When you try to unlock your iPhone, the feature will recognize your eyes and unlock your device without you having to remove your mask.
This new feature is a welcome addition for iPhone users who prefer to use Face ID instead of typing in their passcode every time they want to unlock their device. It’s also a helpful tool for those who live in areas where wearing masks is mandatory.
Note: If you wear a face mask too high or too close to your eyes, your iPhone might not unlock with Face ID. This feature requires your eyes to be unblocked. Also, you can’t use Face ID in landscape mode with Face ID with a Mask turned on.
