The streaming landscape has never been more crowded. With viewers juggling multiple subscriptions and savvy about value, platforms are looking for fresh ways to differentiate themselves beyond exclusive shows and movies. Enter “Perks”—an “always-on” loyalty program from Disney Plus, with Hulu not far behind. Starting May 29th in the U.S., Disney Plus subscribers can unlock a host of digital freebies, shopping discounts, and once-in-a-lifetime sweepstakes. Hulu will kick off its own perks hub on June 2nd, rolling out new offers every week through the summer. If you subscribe to a Disney Plus and Hulu bundle, you’ll get access to both programs—no extra fees required.

Subscriber churn is a silent killer for streaming services. After the initial excitement of launch-day bingeing, many viewers cancel once they’ve polished off the latest hit. Perks programs aim to boost ongoing engagement by sprinkling in value beyond the screen. Think of it as a digital loyalty card: if you’re saving money on everyday brands or entering sweepstakes for dream experiences, you’re more likely to stick around for month three, four, or ten.

This strategy isn’t unique—airlines and grocery chains have been rewarding loyalty for decades—but it’s fresh territory for streaming. By partnering with brands like DoorDash, adidas, and Microsoft, Disney Plus and Hulu are effectively turning their subscriber bases into captive audiences for third-party offers. And with new perks dropping regularly, there’s a built-in excuse to fire up the app, even on slow TV nights.

Disney Plus perks

Launching on May 29, 2025 in the U.S., Disney Plus Perks is live at disneyplus.com/perks. An international expansion is slated for “later this year,” though exact dates have yet to be announced.

At launch, subscribers (including those on a Disney Plus + Hulu bundle) can claim:

  • Freakier Friday World Premiere sweepstakes: Win tickets to see the sequel before its theatrical release on August 8, 2025.
  • Disney Destiny Cruise sweepstakes: Enter to win a 4-night Disney Cruise Line voyage sailing from Fort Lauderdale in November 2025.
  • 6-month DashPass membership: Courtesy of DoorDash (a $60 value) for unlimited deliveries and reduced fees.
  • 20% off adidas: Apply to purchases on adidas.com or through the adidas app.
  • 15% off Funko & Loungefly: Discount on pop culture collectibles at Funko.com and Loungefly.com.
  • 3-month CLEAR+ trial: Breeze through airport security with expedited screening for three months.
  • 2-month Super Duolingo trial: Boost your language learning with Duolingo’s premium tier (approximately $25.98 value).
  • Free in-game emoji: Spruce up your texts with exclusive Disney Emoji Blitz icons.
  • Early access to Disney Pinnacle by Dapper Labs: Claim a $10 Dapper Credit toward digital pin collectibles before June 26th.
  • Walt Disney World Resort savings: Book select Disney Resorts Collection hotels for two nights or more, with rates starting at $99/night at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.

Beyond these highlights, additional perks—ranging from in-game tokens for Star Wars: TIE Fighter to exclusive collectible drops—will rotate through the year, ensuring there’s always something new to explore.

Hulu perks

Mark your calendars for June 2, 2025—that’s when Hulu perks go live for U.S. subscribers (including those on the Disney bundle). Although Hulu’s full lineup isn’t public yet, early word hints at:

  • Brand collaborations with Microsoft, Pure Green, and LG, offering everything from tech discounts to healthy meal credits.
  • Weekly perks drops all summer, featuring sweepstakes for tickets to major events like Comic-Con San Diego and Lollapalooza, plus exclusive merchandise from hit Hulu shows.
  • A mix of digital freebies, discount codes, and “one-off” experiences designed to keep you checking the Hulu app beyond new episode night.

Hulu’s approach mirrors Disney Plus’s “always-on” ethos but leans more heavily into live events and big-ticket experiential offers—a savvy move to tap into the concert-and-festival crowd.

How to claim your perks

  1. Verify your subscription: You must have an active Disney Plus or Hulu subscription (or both via bundle) to participate.
  2. Visit the Perks hub: Head to disneyplus.com/perks or hulu.com/perks once the programs are live.
  3. Enroll: Follow the on-screen prompts to unlock each offer—some require sign-ups on partner sites.
  4. Redeem within timeframes: Many sweepstakes and trials have cut-off dates (e.g., the Disney Pinnacle credit expires June 26th), so don’t sleep on them.
  5. Check back weekly: Both platforms will refresh their perks catalogs regularly—set a calendar reminder if you tend to forget.

The launch of Perks marks a clear signal that streaming services are evolving into broader entertainment ecosystems. As Disney and Hulu double down on loyalty incentives, competitors like Netflix and Prime Video may soon follow suit, either by enhancing their own rewards programs or by forging new brand partnerships. For viewers, this could mean an era of unprecedented “subscription value”—provided the quality of perks keeps pace with subscriber expectations.

Critics will watch churn rates closely: if Perks measurably improve retention, it could cement loyalty programs as standard industry practice. But if enrollment remains low or redemption rates sputter, services may pivot toward different tactics, like interactive content or enhanced community features.

Disney Plus and Hulu’s new Perks programs are more than a collection of discounts—they’re a strategic play to keep subscribers engaged in an increasingly fickle streaming market. Whether you’re chasing free DashPass deliveries, aiming for a Disney cruise sweepstakes win, or eyeing festival tickets via Hulu, there’s no shortage of reasons to stay tuned in. So log in, explore the perks hub, and treat your next stream as the gateway to a world of bonus goodies—just remember to redeem before the clock runs out.
