Rod Fergusson, the esteemed boss at Blizzard, shared on Twitter to reveal the most popular class in Diablo IV. Without seeking permission from Blizzard’s marketing and PR teams, Fergusson spilled the beans on the current state of affairs in the game. As it stands, the Sorcerer/Sorceress class has emerged as the frontrunner, capturing the hearts of countless players within the Diablo community.

Fergusson, careful not to overstep his boundaries, hinted at the possibility of things changing in the future, providing a glimmer of hope for fans of other classes. “But you didn’t hear it from me,” Fergusson cryptically added, leaving room for speculation and anticipation.

Diablo IV offers a diverse array of five classes for players to choose from, each embodying distinct playstyles and abilities. Alongside the Sorcerer/Sorceress, the lineup includes the stalwart Barbarian, the cunning Rogue, the enigmatic Necromancer, and the nature-wielding Druid. With such a rich selection, players have been eager to experiment with each class, but the Sorcerer/Sorceress has managed to capture the lion’s share of attention thus far.

Since its highly anticipated launch on June 6, 2023, Diablo IV has been making waves in the gaming community. While the rollout of the game has been relatively smooth overall, players encountered significant login issues on June 8. Thankfully, these problems have been addressed to a large extent, but concerns linger regarding potential complications this weekend.

Fergusson shed light on the reasons behind the server-related difficulties, revealing that Diablo IV has been witnessing “record highs” in terms of concurrency. This metric measures the number of players engaging with the game simultaneously, highlighting the immense popularity of Diablo IV. As a result, the surge in player activity has strained the servers, leading to intermittent challenges for eager fans. With the anticipated surge expected this weekend, Fergusson advised players to prepare accordingly.

Blizzard, the gaming company behind Diablo IV, has reason to celebrate as the latest installment in the series has shattered records. Diablo IV‘s launch has become the biggest in the company’s storied history, surpassing the impressive sales figures of its predecessor, Diablo III. The game sold a staggering 3.5 million copies within the first 24 hours. Not stopping there, Diablo IV also outperformed the launch of World of Warcraft‘s Shadowlands expansion, which sold over 3.7 million copies on its inaugural day.
