The new, customizable iPhone lock screen is a key feature of iOS 16. It allows users to create multiple sets with various wallpapers, font settings, and even widgets. Despite having numerous customization options, the latest version of iOS does not allow you to create as many custom lock screens as you wanted.
According to an iPhone user on Reddit, iOS 16 has a limit of 200 custom lock screens per iPhone, as noted by 9to5Mac. The system then prompts the user to delete one of the previously added sets before creating a new one. Anyway, for many users, this limit seems to be enough, but it’s worth noting that Apple does not allow you to create an unlimited number of lock screens.
Browsing through 200 lock screen options also does not seem so to be convenient with the current state. This is due to the fact that you must swipe through each one, and there is no quick way to jump from the first to the last, for example.

Fun fact: Apple should increase the limit of lock screens to 365 so that iPhone users can set a number of custom lock screens and show them off on an everyday basis.
