Bose has just unveiled its newest flagship soundbar, the Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar. Priced at $899 and available in Black or Arctic White, this soundbar may look similar to its predecessor, the Bose Smart Soundbar 900, but it boasts a groundbreaking feature that sets it apart — an AI-driven dialogue mode.

The headline feature of the Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar is its innovative AI-driven dialogue mode. Utilizing the power of machine learning, this mode enhances the clarity of spoken words, making them easier to hear. This is a significant improvement, especially for those who have struggled with dialogue clarity while enjoying movies or TV shows.

The Ultra Soundbar continues Bose’s commitment to delivering immersive audio experiences. Like the previous model, it features up-firing drivers that bounce height-channel sound off your ceiling, a crucial element in achieving the immersive 3D audio effects of formats like Dolby Atmos. Additionally, both Black and White versions of the Ultra Soundbar come with an impact-resistant tempered glass top, combining aesthetics with durability.

While the soundbar is optimized for Dolby Atmos playback, Bose claims that its spatial technologies can enhance the sound quality of non-Atmos content as well. The inclusion of Bose’s TrueSpace tech ensures a more immersive audio experience, building on the success of its predecessor, the Smart Soundbar 900.

Bose also brings back its Adaptiq room correction feature, which uses an external microphone to analyze your room’s acoustics and adjust the soundbar’s settings accordingly. This feature helps optimize the audio quality based on your specific room setup.

Fans of the Bose Smart Soundbar family will find many familiar features in the Ultra model. It includes a single HDMI eARC connection, Wi-Fi connectivity with Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa integration, and the Bose Voice4Video feature, which allows you to control certain TV functions using Alexa voice commands.

Moreover, the Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar can be wirelessly paired with Bose bass modules and surround speakers, offering a complete home theater setup. It can also be integrated into a multi-room wireless sound system. With Bose SimpleSync, you can even connect select Bose wireless headphones over Bluetooth, allowing for a private listening experience with independent volume controls for the soundbar and headphones.
