After some major delays, director Jaume Collet-Serra’s Black Adam feature starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is smashing into theaters this fall, and a new trailer has just debuted, showcasing the movie’s titular antihero as he rises to power in the modern era.
Black Teth-Adam (played by Johnson), a man born into slavery in the mythical kingdom of Kahndaq in the distant past, is introduced in Adam’s debut trailer. Teth-Adam is killed by his enslavers, but he is resurrected by a supernatural bolt of lightning seemingly summoned by his son just before the youngster succumbs to the strain of the ritual. Teth-Adam’s son’s death in the past radicalizes him and inspires him to use his newfound powers to seek a kind of justice so terrible that those around him are forced to imprison him.
The trailer suggests how a version of the Justice Society of America, comprised of Hawkman (played by Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (played by Noah Centineo), Cyclone (played by Quintessa Swindell), and Doctor Fate (played by Pierce Brosnan), will emerge to stop him.
Black Adam is ready to smash theaters on October 21st. Check the trailer below:
