Amazon has spilled the beans on the rumored Beats Studio Buds Plus, publishing a retail listing that reveals every detail about the upcoming earbuds. According to the listing (the product has been taken down and says “Page Not Found”, however, we somehow managed the cache version of the Amazon listing and took a screenshot, see it below), the new earbuds will feature more powerful active noise cancellation, better air venting, and an improved transparency mode. The buds will also support spatial audio and come with four sizes of bundled ear tips, including an extra small set. They will be priced at $169.95 and will be available from May 18th, 2023 in Transparent, Black or Ivory.

The leak puts Apple-owned Beats in an awkward position, as there is not much left for the company to announce about the new earbuds. The Studio Buds Plus will compete directly with Apple’s second-generation AirPods Pro, which has been praised for its audio fidelity, noise cancellation, and adaptive transparency mode. While the Studio Buds Plus lacks an Apple-branded chip, they do offer features like hands-free Siri and Find My integration, making them an attractive option for iPhone and Android users alike.

The leaked listing also mentions up to 36 hours of total battery life and larger microphones that could improve voice call quality. The earbuds and case share a similar design to the original Studio Buds, which were lauded for their comfort but received mixed reviews for their sound quality and ANC effectiveness. However, the upgraded features of Studio Buds Plus may address these issues.

The leak has generated a buzz among tech enthusiasts who are eager to try out the new earbuds, especially the transparent set that was briefly teased in a behind-the-design video for the original product. It remains to be seen how the Studio Buds Plus will stack up against the AirPods Pro, but the leak has certainly raised expectations for the upcoming release.

Update April 27th, 2023, 6:25 a.m. UTC: We’ve added the screenshot [above] of the product color from the cache version of the Amazon listing for Beats Studio Buds Plus.

Update May 18th, 2023, 2:23 p.m. UTC: The product has been officially launched and we’ve added the product availability links.
