Apple TV+ has released an official teaser for its upcoming highly-anticipated natural history event series “Prehistoric Planet,” which will be narrated by Sir David Attenborough and produced by executive producers Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton and BBC Studios Natural History Unit (“Planet Earth”).
The five-episode groundbreaking series will transport viewers 66 million years into the past to discover our world — and the dinosaurs that roamed it — all in stunning detail and set to an original score by multiple Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer, and will premiere globally on Apple TV+ from Monday, May 23rd through Friday, May 27th, 2022.
“Prehistoric Planet” is a one-of-a-kind immersive experience that unites award-winning wildlife filmmaking, cutting-edge paleontology science, and cutting-edge technology to reveal the stunning environments and creatures of ancient Earth. MPC (“The Lion King,” “The Jungle Book”) delivered lifelike visual effects for this series, which was developed by the world-renowned team at BBC Studios Natural History Unit.
“Prehistoric Planet” explores little-known and interesting facts about dinosaur life in the context of Cretaceous environments like coasts, deserts, freshwater, ice worlds, and forests. “Prehistoric Planet” brings Earth’s history to life like never before, from showing eye-opening parenting habits of Tyrannosaurus rex to exploring the deep depths of the oceans and terrifying threats in the sky.
