Apple TV+ announced a new series order for ‘Metropolis,’ produced by UCP and created by award-winning creator, producer, and director Sam Esmail (the creator of the “Mr. Robot” series). The series is based on Fritz Lang’s famous science fiction novel of the same name.

Esmail, who also acts as showrunner, will write and direct the entire season. Esmail and Chad Hamilton will executive produce through their overall arrangement with UCP. The studio is run by UCP, a part of Universal Studio Group.
