Apple stated that on August 27, a very small percentage of iPhone 12 models have issues in the audio problem due to a component that might fail on the receiver module, only for those affected devices that are manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021.

Apple also said that, if customers’ iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not produce any sound from the receiver when they make or receive calls, they are eligible for service which will be free of charge by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. While the iPhone 12 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max models are not eligible for this program, said Apple in the statement.

If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro having this issue, then you can follow this Apple’s official process to get your device eligible and repair it for free of charge. Before you prepare your device for service, you must backup your iPhone device to iCloud or your computer, if you don’t know how to do it then follow this Apple’s official guide.

If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro has any damage that prevents the repair from being completed, such as a cracked screen, that issue must be addressed before the service can be performed. There may be a price to be paid with the additional repair in some instances, said Apple.
